Island of eternal spring in winter - the weather in February in Tenerife. What does the island of Tenerife live in March and what awaits "spring" tourists there Swimming in February

I have been using this service for a long time. Like it very much. Keep up to date with all changes to the declared booking. I applied for a Schengen visa, got on holidays, but the managers monitored the situation and always informed me about the status of the documents. The service is convenient, you can analyze tours by dates, monitor the situation, there are recommendations, which is very important for beginners to choose tours on their own. I recommend this service to all my friends.

perhaps one of the most usable services for finding tours! I used this service for the first time and did not lose))))). thanks to the excellent impressions, I managed to make a small vlog on how to fly cheap to Spain! #friend of the bride

We are very satisfied, we flew charter tickets and took them to the website (of the Pegasus company), postponed the flight an hour earlier and we constantly received messages about the postponement of the departure time, and those who took it through third-party travel agencies did not even know this and many did not have time to board the plane, because they did not have time to fly. To. no one warned them!

I really enjoyed using the service. Favorable prices, you can pay by card, you will quickly and accurately learn all the documents and information on the selected tour.

reasonable price, clear and understandable work. trips to travel agencies who did this are a thing of the past))

Operatively. Reliably. Qualitatively. All liked it. I will continue to use. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Dear Level! I want to say a big thank you for your work. The second time I buy a ticket through your service and the second time everything is perfect. Fast, accurate, reliable. Convenient notification by SMS and mail. Both times I took a ticket for elderly parents (and elderly people are always afraid of everything) and there were no overlaps or delays. Everything is on time. Tour prices are great. Managers are polite and attentive. I look forward to further cooperation. Keep it up!

I book the tour for the second time in a row, I like everything! Fast Feedback everything is convenient and understandable. Solving current issues online, no need to go anywhere and waste time. In general, perfect)) Thank you!

I have always been skeptical about buying tours via the Internet and chose agencies. But I decided to take a chance. because the offer was very seductive) and did not lose. It's like any purchase of things on the Internet - everything is simple and transparent. The agency has always been in touch. When a question arose about the flight, they answered immediately. The documents were sent on time. Everything is fine. I advise the service.

I like to use Level Travel - they have more than replaced tour agents. I compare different dates, tour operators. The whole algorithm of the further stages of booking is thought out to the smallest detail. Automatically send answers before questions arise. Well done!

Hi all! I will write about the weather in Tenerife in February, as many people ask about wintering in the Canaries and the temperature of the ocean.

Living here in winter is quite comfortable, if you are not afraid of the limitation of staying on and cold tiled floors. In my opinion, these are the most big problems.

February weather in Tenerife

Does it get cold here? It happens and how! You need to remember right away that you should come in winter only on southern resorts islands of Tenerife. There is more sun and the wind ends after the mountains of Los Cristianos.

Comfortable temperature in, and, although there are a lot of tourists there. In the north, it rains in winter, the humidity increases and the sun disappears.

It would seem that if there is sun, then everything is fine! But no. In February, the weather in Tenerife is strongly influenced by the ocean. It cools down as much as possible, and at the same time, the average daily air temperature on the island decreases. If during the day in the sun and without wind it is not so noticeable, then at night it becomes very cold. Houses get very cold overnight, and the stupid Canarian habit of making tiled floors in the house enters the scene. You wake up, and from the floor tiles it smells cold! It is sad.

Carpets, slippers with thick soles, heaters and an early exit to the sunny beach become indispensable means of combating the February temperature. True, the heater copes better with increasing electricity bills than with maintaining a comfortable temperature.

But what about a tourist on vacation?

It is easier for travelers in this regard! The contrast with the snow in your hometown helps to ignore the Canary "cold". The water in the ocean may seem quite warm! But a runny nose hints that something is wrong here ... Then rum comes into play =) Well, the return home from Tenerife is not far off, so you need to have time to relax during the tour, body and soul, despite the February weather =).

Not everyone manages to get out on vacation in the classic season for him - summer. But also in winter months spend a couple of weeks with great pleasure is also possible. And for this it is not necessary to go to hot countries. The pearl of the Canarian archipelago Tenerife will meet its guests with sunshine and moderate warmth. Find out on the Tour Calendar what this island is good for in February.

Weather in Tenerife in February

Perhaps Tenerife is one of the few places on earth calling card which is nothing but the climate. The island belongs to Spain, but geographically belongs to the African continent, being located not far from Western Sahara and Morocco. The weather here is determined by being in the subtropical climate zone but it never really gets hot. Moreover, according to the NASA space agency, local weather are the most favorable on the planet for people of absolutely all age categories. And even for those who have problems with the heart and blood vessels. The secret lies in the fact that in fact Tenerife has as many as 28 microclimatic zones. Such a continent in miniature. It's all about the originality of the island landscape, which consists of plains, lowlands, deserts and high mountain ranges. Winters are particularly mild, at this time of the year in daytime day the thermometer does not fall below +20 °C. Therefore, it is not surprising that many tourists flock here to warm up from the cold and soak up the gentle sun. In terms of comfort, February is almost identical to January. Coming here this month, you meet the real spring. And for the inhabitants of some corners of vast Russia, this is summer at all. Most travelers stop in the southern regions.

And not only because the entire tourist infrastructure is concentrated there, but because there are much more “dry” days there. In general, south and north are polar opposites. The northern regions are rainier, taking on about 80% of all precipitation. The northeast Atlantic trade winds enter here, which do not have access to the south due to a collision with the mountain ranges lying in the central part (this month their slopes are covered with snow). As a result, in February, rains here are about 6-7 days, and in the south - 3-5 days. In the capital, by lunchtime, the air warms up to +20 ° C, but as dusk thickens, the thermometer drops to +14 ° C, so along with light things, you will have to take a thick sweater or windbreaker with you. Puerto de la Cruz lies in a lowland, in the evenings you will need a warm jacket - about +12 °C. During the day, no more than +18 ° C. It will not be possible to sunbathe, since the sun rarely comes out from behind the clouds, and showers mark an average of 8 days. But where to get a beautiful tan is quite real, so it's in Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje and Las Americas. The daily temperature range at these resorts is +14..+15 °C and +20..+21°C, while on fine days - up to 6.5 hours of sunshine.

First of all, on the island eternal spring» ride for the friendly azure waters Atlantic Ocean. But we dare to admit that in February beach holiday You can’t call it full-fledged, because swimming in the water is quite cool. And basically vacationers are limited to one reclining on a sun lounger. More active individuals master surfing and diving, since you can always put on a wetsuit. A good compromise for non-sporting tourists, perhaps, will be an exciting cruise on a yacht or a trip on a catamaran - to contemplate the enchanting landscapes, and if you're lucky, everything will be crowned with a meeting with whales and dolphins. In general, winter is good for contemplative pastime and meditative sensations from communicating with pristine nature, as well as sightseeing, of which there are a myriad. Amusement parks do not stop working, so children and their parents will have something to diversify their leisure time.

beach holiday

As you already understood from the above, a beach holiday in February is “lame”. It cannot be compared with what is observed in summer period, despite the fact that there is no big difference in water temperatures. If in August it reaches +23..+24 °C, then in the last month of winter, meteorologists record +19 °C. The main discomfort is delivered not so much by invigorating water as by insufficiently heated air. In fact, their temperatures are on par. And any small breeze gives a feeling of cold. Compared to February temperature regime Atlantic Ocean and mediterranean sea- that is, as they say, heaven and earth. But if we draw a parallel with Miami, with which Tenerife lies on the same latitude, then off the coast of the first bathing season passes at +24 °C. Such a huge difference is explained by the cold Canary current flowing near the island. However, some hardened residents northern countries it's not intimidating in any way.

They quite freely indulge in water pleasures and seem to get great pleasure from it. The only thing that sometimes stops them is big waves. If in summer they mainly prevail in the north and on the southeast beach of El Medano, on which the winds blow about 300 days a year, then in winter they often rise on the south coast. However, this only encourages surfers, for whom high waves are a guarantee Have a good mood. It's quietest on Costa Adeje, Las Americas and Los Cristianos, the lee side hidden behind the mountains. Be that as it may, it is better to rent a hotel or a villa with a heated pool. Even if you do not classify yourself as a heat-loving holiday-makers, it will help you not to become a hostage of bad weather.

Entertainment and excursions

Tenerife is a great place for curious tourists. Even in winter, excursions are held on a regular basis. IN total there are about 200 various routes accompanied by Russian-speaking guides. So it's not hard to imagine how amazing it is. But even in February, related to low season, the prices for them at the host side (if you are traveling on a tour package) "bite". At local companies, they cost almost 2-2.5 times cheaper, and everything is in order with the organization there. So travel on a budget as much as possible. As a rule, acquaintance with any new country or an island, it is customary to start with a visit to the capital. It is noteworthy that Santa Cruz de Tenerife is interesting mainly for shopaholics. They go to Plaza La Candelaria and Calle de Castillo. In fact, the city deserves a more detailed study. Several dozen museums are concentrated on its territory, whose exhibits tell about the history and culture of the Canary Islands. You should definitely look into the Church of Iglesia La Concepción. It is known for the fact that the Holy Cross of the Conquistadors, depicted on the coat of arms of the island, is kept within its walls. From here it is convenient to get to the famous Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz. He became famous for the world's largest collection of parrots. There are about 300 species in the collection.

Along with them, dolphins are depicted on the logo of the zoo. Every day you can see enchanting shows with dolphins, killer whales, fur seals and, of course, parrots. It will take a whole day for a leisurely walk through the park and visit the performances. Since you are already in the north, do not apply to look into the Pueblo Chico Park - a vast complex that has collected on its territory many miniature copies and models of natural monuments, buildings, historical centers, village motifs from all over Tenerife. In general, it is best to come here after a good ride around the island, having traveled it up and down. Then, having seen the original, you can easily recognize its layout. The Atlantic Ocean deserves a separate line. All such people come to Tenerife and not know its power and beauty - an unforgivable omission. It can be done different ways. Some find communion with him through fishing, scuba diving, or taming the waves. Others prefer yachting. An exit to the open ocean and a walk along the coast (the usual southwestern, the quietest in the cold season) will be remembered by you for long years. Near the bay of Los Gigantes, the kings of the ocean expanses, whales, and handsome dolphins are found.

Many tourists are interested in the weather in Tenerife in February. I confess that we were also interested in it. After all, no one wants to come in the rain and cold and spend the whole day in a hotel room. We looked at the forecast in advance, but it did not particularly please us. And even now, if you look at how many degrees there are in Tenerife, you can get scared and change your mind about going.

When I was in Tenerife, I kept a mini diary. I wrote about the temperature there as well. According to my feelings, the air temperature was around 24-25 degrees. The sun is quite hot, especially during the daytime. In the evening the temperature dropped warm jacket it was cold. Some days there was a light breeze, but it was cold. During walks, he did not interfere, but when he left the water, it became cool from him. It was sunny all day, no rain.

For the sake of interest, I compared the weather forecast for the next 10 days and the actual data for last year. See what happened.

Weather forecast for the near future.

Actual weather in February by day last year. The image is clickable and can be enlarged.

I do not agree with the first data. They don't seem to display correctly. Such weather can be in the north or west of Tenerife, but not in the south. But the actual data is similar to the truth. The average temperature on the thermometer is 20-23 degrees. Of course, the sun will seem hotter. And as you can see, in fact, it only rained once in February. I looked at the weather data for February for the past few years, the approximate air temperature and the number of rainy days are the same. Almost the entire month in the south of Tenerife is dry and clear weather. So do not believe the forecasts, but look at the data for the last year by month.

Water temperature

The water temperature of the Atlantic Ocean averages 18-19 degrees in February. It's cold for me, but I swam. When the sun is hot, the water does not seem cold at all. Each beach has a different water temperature. For example, in the windy weather in El Medano, I not only could not enter the water, but it was also cool to walk along the embankment. But on the beaches of Las Amerekas and Adeje, we swam and sunbathed. Some days there were strong waves, but swimming was allowed. Choose the right resort for a holiday in Tenerife in February, because even at a short distance the weather changes a lot.

Is it possible to swim in February in Tenerife

Before the trip, I myself was interested in whether it is possible to swim in Tenerife in February. If you are not afraid of cool water, then you can. I saw that even children bathe. But there are not as many people in the ocean as in the warmer months. Mostly people sunbathe on the beach.

What clothes to take

If you are flying to Tenerife from Russia, then you will have clothes with you for both winter and summer. During the day you will need light clothing - dresses, shorts with T-shirts. Don't forget swimwear. It gets cold in the evening. You will need a warmer jacket - a sweatshirt or fleece, plus jeans or pants. If you go on an excursion to the Teide, then the clothes (including the jacket) in which you will arrive from Russia will come in handy. The volcano is very cold. If it is +23 degrees on the coast, then on Teide it is about 0 degrees. Sometimes it even goes up to -6. It's just cold in there. You will need warm clothes for a trip to the capital of the island. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, I was also comfortable only in a jacket and jeans. It is much colder there than in the south.

Should I go to Tenerife in February

As you can imagine, there is no single answer to this question. It all depends on what you are eating for. If only a beach holiday is important to you, then it is better to go to the southeast this month. It's much warmer and cheaper there. But for exploring the natural beauties and attractions of the island, February is a wonderful month. Firstly, it is not hot and you can comfortably walk in hiking and travel by car and bus. Secondly, there are not many tourists. This means that the prices are not so high and there are no queues anywhere. So if you want to visit Tenerife, do not hesitate. and go on an adventure. had a great time on vacation.

The high pyramid of the volcano creates its own climatic paradoxes: on the island, 80 km long, there is a zone of desert and subtropics in the south, while in its northern part, the weather remains cool even in summer.

This is due to the fact that along the northwestern coast of Tenerife, the Gulf Stream flows, already cooled in distant Scandinavia.

Teide, towering over the central part of the island, serves as a shield from the cold air of the Atlantic.

In winter, cacti bloom on the slopes of the volcano.

On the island, even in winter, a bright and carefree resort life continues. There are fewer tourists, and the possibilities for recreation are almost endless.

February ticket prices are not much different from summer ones. The reason for this is the famous Tenerife carnival taking place this month.

“During trips around the island, we noticed that the groves of banana palms were hung with nets from starlings. Local residents, just like us, cultivate vegetable gardens. Russians among local residents many - guides, drivers, instructors. We returned home with a summer tan in the middle of winter.

Anna's review:

“We were with the whole family in Las Americas in mid-February. They sailed on an ocean ferry to the neighboring island of La Gomera, saw whales, heard the famous “Homeric” whistle, on which the inhabitants of the mountain slopes speak. We bought BASE tickets with an open date on the ferry (they are more expensive, but there are also WEB and Flexible tariffs with a fixed flight date) and did not fail: having missed the last flight, they were able to return to Tenerife the next day on the same tickets without additional payment. The quick-witted tourists took rental cars with them.”

In February - the traditional season of sales: stores display goods from mainland Spain. The percentage of discounts gradually increases, and by the end of the month they are up to 70% of the cost. Good purchases can be made at a ridiculous price: clothes, shoes, olive oil and alcohol.

In the metropolitan shopping center "El Corte Inglés" foreigners are provided with a 10% discount upon presentation of a passport.

On the embankment and in the center there are many small shops belonging to merchants from Pakistan and India. Do not buy electronics from them, no one will give a guarantee on the quality of equipment. But everyday goods and souvenirs can be bought cheaper here.

Michael's review:

“In Tenerife, I met brisk sprint lottery saleswomen twice. Both times, my wife and I pulled out tickets, one of which got a bottle of champagne, and the other - a vacation ticket (the first time to Thailand, and the second time - a country to choose from). An amazing coincidence. After that, we were taken by taxi to the “headquarters” of one of the firms organizing club holidays, where they spent many hours (!) processing with tea drinking, persuading us to issue a club card for many thousand for a holiday in the apartment. Moreover, the decision had to be made immediately - with the signing of documents. They barely resisted these proposals and returned with champagne to their hotel by taxi at the expense of the “agitators”. It seems that there are many such firms, they trade all year round even in winter. It’s a pity the time wasted, we could see a few more sights. ”

Conclusion

Winter tours in Tenerife are no less attractive than holidays at the peak of the tourist summer season. Entertainment is also available warm days guaranteed. February is perfect for an active holiday in the Canary Islands.
