Reliable, safe and versatile - the armed forces will soon receive, which in terms of efficiency is not inferior to foreign counterparts, and in a number of characteristics even surpasses the best of them.

State tests will be completed before the end of the year. The model of the pistol has not yet been officially named, but experts are sure that gunsmiths are testing the latest development of the concern.

About the features of this melee weapon - in the material of RIA Novosti.

Soft descent

The status of the most massive domestic pistol today belongs to the legendary Makarov. It has been in service for more than 70 years and, with all due respect to its merits, is hopelessly outdated. They thought about replacing the “peem” back in the 1980s, but during the years of perestroika, there was no time for that.

The first attempt to switch to new weapons was made by the military at the beginning of the 2000s - a limited batch of Yarygin pistols entered the troops. During the operation immediately identified shortcomings. When shooting, the bolt often jammed, the gun was too heavy for daily wear, the protruding parts on the case interfered with quickly getting it out of the holster, and the build quality left much to be desired. Something else was required.

The first prototype of the PL-14 (Lebedev's pistol) was presented general public in 2015, and its improved version was shown a year later at the Army-2016 forum.

The product of the 2015 sample takes into account all the shortcomings of its predecessor. In particular, the developers have improved the shape of the handle - it has become even more comfortable and ergonomic, reduced recoil and added smoothness to the trigger.

Moreover, the designers developed two versions of the PL-15 - with "long" and "short" descents. The first - about seven millimeters - will protect the shooter from accidental shot in a stressful situation. This modification is intended for combined arms army units. PL-15 for "specialists" and highly skilled users is equipped with a more sensitive descent.

The pistol is designed according to the classical principle of locking with a barrel misalignment. This scheme is used by most manufacturers handguns in the world.

The standard PL-15 barrel is 120 millimeters, and the total length of the pistol is 207 millimeters. A variant with an elongated muffler barrel is supposed. In addition, as with any weapon of the 21st century, the PL-15 can be equipped with a collimator sight, an underbarrel flashlight and a laser sight. Another feature of the PL-15 is the hammerless scheme: the pistol is fired in self-cocking mode for each shot.

The submarine was developed in record time, taking into account the experience of the best weapons companies. The main reference point for Russian specialists was the Glock, which the military and police from all over the world managed to fall in love with. In Russia, the “Austrian” is also often used by individual units of the special services.

“At first, the developers collected all the requirements and wishes of the users,” Andrey Kirisenko, Honored Master of Sports, world champion in practical shooting, who was at the origins of the creation of the PL-15, told RIA Novosti. - We asked them what they like or dislike about the Glock and other famous pistols. I wanted to take all the best in the world and eliminate the shortcomings. At the same time, the Lebedev pistol was made according to the principle “no need to reinvent the wheel”. There is an old proven Browning scheme that has proven to be extremely effective.

Reliability, according to Kirisenko, is the most main characteristic presented for combat army weapons in Russia. In the PL, this was fully realized. And the firing range and penetration ability depend on the type of ammunition.

“There is nothing more important than reliability for a short barrel,” the expert is sure. - And if the gun will be tested in TSNIITOCHMASH, which, by the way, the Glock could not stand, then we can say with confidence: the PL-15 is the most reliable pistol in the world.

Because, firstly, the military has very high requirements for new weapons, and secondly, TSNIITOCHMASH has the toughest and most difficult tests.

Any type of ammunition is suitable for the PL-15, including increased power; neither heat, nor cold, nor rain, nor snow will interfere with the shot. Moreover, the pistol allows the use of low-quality cartridges, which often cause a delay in the shot in the Austrian Glock.

Lebedev is designed to fire 9×19 Parabellum cartridges, twice as powerful as Makarov's 9×18. The standard magazine with a capacity of 15 rounds can be replaced with a whole line of extended capacity up to thirty rounds of ammunition.

The developers claim a high pistol resource - the PL-15 can withstand up to ten thousand shots even with reinforced armor-piercing cartridges.

“At Glock, for example, if you soak it in water, there is a high probability of a shot being delayed. It reacts very badly to our ammunition from the Barnaul and Tula cartridge factories - it works well with imported ones, but with ours there are regular delays. The submarine shoots our ammunition perfectly in any difficult conditions, ”Kirisenko noted.

Among the advantages of the Russian pistol are compactness and ergonomics. Convenient controls, you can safely store the cartridge in the chamber - that is, the "pulled-fired" scheme is implemented.

“For a shooter, the gun is very comfortable. Lebedev, who worked for many years with sports weapons designer Efim Khaidurov, is well versed in human biomechanics. Therefore, the angle of inclination of the handle, the ergonomics of the weapon are such that they allow you to make a repeated shot very quickly and accurately, ”Kirisenko emphasizes.

In terms of weight and size characteristics, the PL-15 surpasses the Austrian Glock: the maximum width in the handle area is only 28 millimeters, in the front part it is 21 millimeters. The Russian pistol is better suited for concealed carry, the holster with it will not protrude much from under the clothes.

In 2017, the developers introduced and. From the base - weighing 800 grams - a compact pistol differs in reduced length, height and, as a result, weight. The principle of operation of automation and internal mechanisms are the same. Modularity is preserved - the user can replace the barrel with a longer one or put the necessary front sight and rear sight.

Colt M1911

Of course, the development of Russian specialists will be noticed on the arms market - constructively successful combat pistols are rarely presented in the world. For example, the well-known American Colt M1911 has been produced for over a hundred years, and the Austrian Glock is almost forty.

The development of new short-barreled weapons requires many competencies, from basic sciences to metallurgy. Many countries with developed mechanical engineering cannot afford their own pistol. For example, France, Great Britain failed to develop their short barrel, Saudi Arabia. In the United States, the Italian Beretta pistol is in service, and special units use the same Glock.

PL-15 in Once again proves that Russia has all the necessary knowledge and capabilities to create a high-quality small arms, including the short one. The use of a domestic product in the army is important both from a strategic point of view and from a financial point of view - the cost of the PL-15 will be significantly lower than any other foreign counterpart.

In the last publication () we showed a video, half of which is devoted to a new word in Russian weapons design - the Lebedev PL-15 pistol. Probably, many people remember the excitement of 2015, when the working sample of this weapon, the PL-14 pistol, was first shown to the general public.

What flattering names they just didn’t call him: “Russian weapons breakthrough”, “unsurpassed in beauty”, etc! And now 2016 comes, the exhibition "Army of Russia-2016" opens, and at the stand of the Kalashnikov Concern flaunts new model pistol - PL-15.

The PL-15 pistol was developed by designer Dmitry Lebedev, who works in the Kalashnikov concern. Dmitry is a student of the legendary sporting weapons designer Efim Khaidurov, and has been developing experimental pistols for many years.

In the photo: PL-14 \ 15 pistol designer Dmitry Lebedev

The development of a pistol under the index PL-14 was started in 2014 with active participation famous shooter Andrei Kirisenko, multiple champion of Russia in practical shooting. The purpose of developing a new pistol is to create a service (combat) pistol for the police, army and special services, as well as variants based on it for sports, practical shooting.

The new pistol was based on a number of basic concepts, namely: optimal ergonomics, safe handling, high reliability with any 9x19 cartridges, full “two-sidedness”, high service life (at least 10,000 shots when using reinforced armor-piercing cartridges 7N21; with “ordinary "ammunition resource should be significantly greater).

The Lebedev PL-15 pistol uses automatics using the recoil of the bolt coupled to the barrel, with a short barrel stroke. The lowering of the breech when unlocking is carried out by a curly tide under the breech. The barrel bore is locked when the protrusion in the upper part of the barrel is engaged with a window for ejecting cartridge cases in the bolt. The frame of the pistol is made of aluminum alloy, in the future it is planned to use a frame made of impact-resistant polymer. The shape of the handle of the weapon provides a comfortable and natural grip of the weapon, while the maximum thickness of the handle is only 28mm.

The trigger mechanism is kurkovy, with a hidden trigger and an inertial drummer. Shooting is carried out in self-cocking mode for each shot (trigger only double action), while the trigger pull is 4 kg, and the full trigger travel is only 7 mm. Additionally, a manual fuse was introduced into the design, which, when turned on, disconnects the trigger with a trigger and has two flat, conveniently located levers on both sides of the weapon. The design provides for an indicator of the presence of a cartridge in the chamber, made in the form of a pin protruding from the rear end of the bolt when there is a cartridge in the barrel. The slide stop levers are also reversible, as is the magazine release button. Cartridges are fed from detachable double-row magazines with cartridges exiting in one row. Sights are open, unregulated, installed in dovetail grooves. On the frame under the barrel there is a Picatinny rail for installation additional equipment(LCC, flashlight).

The PL-15 pistol can be equipped with an elongated threaded barrel for mounting a quick-detachable muffler.

On the video: shooting from a PL-15 pistol with an attached silencer. Shooting is carried out with supersonic cartridges. If you use cartridges with a subsonic speed of a heavy bullet, then the sound of the shot will be significantly quieter.

Compared with the PL-14 prototype, the PL-15 pistol shown at the Army-2016 exhibition is distinguished by a slightly modified shape of the back of the bolt, the presence of a hole at the bottom of the handle for attaching a pistol strap, a new shape of the safety levers, slide stop, barrel lock, and latch shop. In addition, a version was shown equipped with an elongated barrel with threads on its muzzle for attaching a silencer.

The Lebedev PL-15 pistol has a number of advantages, including the ergonomics of the handle, the accuracy and accuracy of offhand and high-speed shooting, the small thickness and the absence of levers that protrude strongly beyond the side edges of the weapon, and in addition, only a self-cocking trigger that allows you to safely carry a weapon with a cartridge in the chamber without the need to use a safety lever.

Tactical and technical characteristics of the pistol PL-15

Personal opinion: looking at this incredibly beautiful weapon, the thought arises: “We could!”. I really hope that all the identified shortcomings will be corrected, and the Russian Army will receive a new beautiful pistol with excellent ergonomics, no less excellent ammunition, and excellent reliability. And who knows, maybe even you and I will have a chance to shoot from it at the training ground? :)

PL-14- a domestic semi-automatic pistol of 9 mm caliber under development under the cartridge 9x19 Parabellum. Created by the engineers of the Kalashnikov concern to arm the army and law enforcement agencies. The development project was led by Dmitry Lebedev, supported by Russian champion in practical shooting by Andrey Kirisenko. The pistol was first shown at the military forum "Army-2015" in 2015. At the forums of subsequent years, the Kalashnikov concern presented modified versions PL-14, PL-15 and PL-15K.

History of creation

The Makarov pistol is in the service of most of the power structures of Russia and Soviet Union for over half a century. Despite the fact that he has proven himself to be an excellent weapon in all aspects (excellent reliability, more or less good cartridge, and most importantly - extremely cheap to manufacture), the veteran needs a replacement. Over the past few decades, many contenders have been developed for the place of the most widely used and mass-produced pistol in Russia. As we can see, so far no one has managed to remove the PM from his post. Nevertheless, designers in the sweat of their brows create new pistols, and the famous Kalashnikov concern was no exception in this regard. Hitherto little-known student famous designer sports firearms (he has more than a dozen sports pistols, as well as two sports modifications of the Nagant revolver - TOZ-36 and TOZ-49) Efima Khaidurova, Dmitry Lebedev, in 2015 at military-technical exhibition"Army-2015" presented its latest pistol PL-14. According to the concern, the pistol was developed with the participation of instructors for the training of FSB operatives, as well as shooters. The work began in 2014, which testifies to the professionalism of the designer who created the working version of the pistol in a year. In 2016 and 2017, at the same forum, Lebedev presented two more modifications of the PL-14 - PL-15 and PL-15K (modernized and modernized shortened, respectively). Unusual for Russian weapons the cartridge is due to the obsolescence of the domestic 9x18. A more powerful and promising 9x19 cartridge was adopted as the only possible one (for 2018) for the Lebedev pistol.
The resource of a pistol with proper care exceeds more than 30,000 shots.

Design

A well-known shortcoming of the Makarov pistol is ergonomics and a magazine of only 8 rounds. Despite the fact that the PM is a compact pistol, the convenience and comfort of holding and shooting is often called into question. One of the main tasks of Dmitry Lebedev in the development of a new pistol was to solve this problem. The designer applied many solutions that allowed several times (compared to PM) to improve the grip and ergonomics of the submarine. At first glance at the gun, a bright detail catches your eye - the handle. It is made deliberately inclined, which makes shooting generally more accurate, and especially a quick shot offhand. Also unusual look PL-15 contributes to an extremely small distance between back side handle and barrel axis. According to physical laws, such a solution helps to reduce the leverage that occurs when a shot is fired. Accordingly, the barrel toss from the recoil force will be minimal. Automation PL-15 works according to a rather complex principle. IN in general terms this is the use of the recoil of the bolt connected to the barrel. This also results in a short stroke of the barrel. In automation, many innovative design solutions have been used to make it as reliable and efficient as possible. Also PL-15 has interesting feature. The trigger pull is 4 kg (for comparison, the PM has 2-3.5 kg), which makes it possible to eliminate unnecessary waste of cartridges in a stressful situation. The pistol controls are duplicated for both left-handers and right-handers. There is also an indicator of the presence of a loaded cartridge, which allows you to both visually and tactilely determine whether the weapon is loaded. Under the barrel there is a Picatinny mount for mounting a laser pointer or flashlights. It is impossible not to mention also the extremely compact dimensions of the PL-15, which have been reduced to a minimum in the PL-15K modification. This wide range of sizes allows the pistol to be used as an assault or concealed carry weapon. Due to the specifics of the development of the PL-15, it is planned to produce in a variety of options. Starting from sports full-size and ending with compact combat. Depending on the model, the dimensions of the pistol vary, as well as the design of the trigger (trigger and percussion type). In sports modifications, the trigger must be cocked manually for each shot, while the combat PL-15-01 is a semi-automatic self-loading weapon.

The difference between PL-15 and PL-15K

The PL-15K pistol (K-compact) is a modification of the PL-15. The main difference between the pistol is the size and weight of the pistol (0.72 kg versus 0.99 kg). The pistol magazines are not interchangeable: 14 rounds for the PL-15K and 15 rounds for the PL-15. There is also a PL-15K with a polymer bolt carrier. The reduction in size and weight makes it comfortable to wear for long periods of time and provides greater stealth. The pistol also has Picatinny rails on the frame for mounting a laser pointer or a tactical flashlight.

Results

In general, Dmitry Lebedev managed to create, probably, the most promising Russian pistol, the development of which we can observe right now. The PL-15 (and modifications) is a reliable weapon, the automation of which is developed based on the experience of previous samples of Russian short-barreled weapons. The 9x19 Parabellum cartridge, new in the Russian arms industry, will become a reliable tool in the development of this weapon, becoming one of the main innovations of this pistol. The PL-15 is a handy weapon whose ergonomics have been influenced by the latest research in the field of biometrics. The PL-15 is a precision weapon, the accuracy of which is ensured by a number of innovative design solutions. I hope that the entire Russian weapons community will closely follow the development of the latest domestic pistol.

Lebedev pistol modifications:

  • PL-14 - the first version of the Lebedev pistol, presented to the general public in 2015.
  • PL-15- a sports model of the submarine, introduced in 2016.
  • PL-15-01- combat model PL-15, which has less effort on the descent and is semi-automatic (unlike the PL-15, which was fired by self-cocking).
  • PL-15K- a shortened version of the PL-15, designed for covert carrying or carrying by services that rarely use weapons.

Below is a table of technical and firing characteristics of the PL-15 pistol.

The Kalashnikov Concern, which is part of the Rostec State Concern, will launch the Lebedev pistol (PL-15) into serial production in 2019.

“Serial production (of the PL-15 pistol) will be in 2019, this is absolutely certain. All equipment is on the way,” Alexander Gvozdik told reporters, noting that the pistol will be produced in Izhevsk using new technologies. “The product will meet the consumer properties of the main customer both in terms of military small arms and in the direction of civilian small arms,” the managing director of IMZ emphasized. No other details about the start of mass production of the Lebedev pistol have yet been disclosed.

For the first time, the Lebedev pistol prototype was presented to the general public as part of the Army-2015 military-technical forum. And a modified and improved version of this pistol chambered for the 9x19 mm Parabellum cartridge, which is popular all over the world, was presented a year later at the Army-2016 forum. And in 2017, at the Army-2017 forum, the PL-15K pistol was presented to the public, which is developed in the shortest possible time compact version standard PL-15. The pistol is equipped with a Picatinny rail for mounting additional tactical devices, the PL-15 magazine is designed for 14 rounds. According to the assurances of the Kalashnikov concern, the novelty has a number of advantages, which include accuracy and accuracy of fire, a small thickness of the pistol and ergonomics of the handle.

Pistols PL-15K and PL-15 together

A compact version of the pistol, designated PL-15K and based on the full-size model, was introduced last year and is also a classic self-loading pistol. To reload the weapon, the move of the movable barrel is used, which, under the action of recoil, moves backward along with the bolt. The stroke of the PL-15K barrel when fired is short, that is, less than the shutter stroke. This automation scheme, chosen by the designers, allowed them to create a pistol with minimum dimensions. The design of the PL-15K pistol allows you to install a longer barrel on it, as well as various options flies and rear sights. At the same time, the trigger stroke was deliberately made large, and the pressing force is 4 kg - this is more than that of analogues. A spontaneous shot is almost impossible.

The PL-15K version turned out to be even more compact, while retaining the 9x19 mm caliber and a 14-round magazine. The length of this version of the gun is only 180 mm, height - 130 mm. The mass of an unloaded PL-15K pistol is 720 grams. It is compactness that is called one of the main competitive advantage models. If the full-size PL-15, which is also difficult to call a giant, still has several fairly serious competitors in its segment, then the niche claimed by the PL-15K version is almost free from competitors. With the most successful development of circumstances, the compact pistol of Izhevsk gunsmiths will finally be able to supplant the almost eternal Makarov pistol, which enjoys unquestioned authority among domestic gunsmiths and industry, being in service since 1951.

Compared to its trouble-free, albeit already very elderly competitor, the PL-15K has a number of advantages, which include better ergonomics, accuracy, accuracy and rate of fire, small thickness and the absence of strongly protruding side faces lever arms. In addition, the model can be equipped with a self-cocking trigger, which allows you to safely carry a pistol with a cartridge in the chamber without the need to use a safety lever. An important fact is the use of more powerful 9x19 mm Parabellum cartridges, including the possibility of using armor-piercing ammunition. It is also important to increase the capacity of the magazine: the standard box magazine PL-15 and PL-15K is designed for 14 rounds, while in the PM there are only 8 rounds, the difference is almost two times.

Gun PL-15(Pistol Lebedev model 2015) was developed by the design team of the Kalashnikov Concern under the leadership of Dmitry Lebedev, a student of sports weapons designer Efim Khaidurov. Work on the PL-15 began in 2014 with the participation of Andrey Kirisenko, the multiple champion of Russia in practical shooting. At the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2017" its shortened version was shown - a pistol PL-15K.

Pistol PL-15 Photo AO Concern "Kalashnikov"

The main buyers of PL-15 pistols should be the divisions special purpose, army and police. In addition, it is planned to release a sports version for practical shooting. For the first time, the prototype of the Lebedev Pistol was publicly demonstrated in June 2015 under the designation PL-14. Its improved version was released in 2016, at the Army-2016 exhibition under the designation PL-15. In 2017, at the Army-2017 forum, the manufacturer presented an updated PL-15 with a different form of shutter and shutter delay lever.

One of the most notable positive qualities pistol PL-15 is an ergonomic shape of the handle with a large angle of inclination, thanks to which the users of the pistol were able to do accurate shot when shooting offhand. Such pistols as Parabellum P.08, Ruger Mark IV and Glock 17 have this advantage. In order to reduce the recoil shoulder and toss when fired, the distance between the butt plate of the handle and the central axis of the bore is made as small as possible. As a result, the shooter spends less time re-aiming after each shot, which increases both accuracy and rate of fire.

Lebedev's sample has a chance to become the first Russian self-loading pistol with a really ergonomic handle, pleasant in the "grip" and accurate in shooting, not inferior in these qualities the best examples Western space. The PL-15 handle has interchangeable pads of different sizes. This decision, which significantly improves ergonomics, is used by the leading manufacturers of handguns in the United States and Europe in most of their modern self-loading pistols.

The PL-15 could even try to compete in accuracy with the famous Swiss SIG P210 and its modern version of the SIG Sauer P210 Target, famous for its excellent shooting accuracy, if not only for the self-cocking trigger (DAO) and the thick handle due to the two-row magazine. Customers of the PL-15 did not prioritize accuracy, unlike the Swiss, who did not want to reduce accuracy in comparison with the Luger 1906/29 in order to improve other basic properties of the weapon and adopted the Ordonnanzpistole 49 that met their requirements.

Automation works according to the scheme of using the recoil of a moving barrel with its short stroke. The locking of the bore with the shutter is carried out according to the system with the warp of the barrel, the clutch of the massive protrusion above the breech breech with the ejection window spent cartridges in jail. The disengagement of the barrel from the bolt is carried out by tilting the breech of the barrel down during interaction inclined surface tide under the breech breech with the axis of the barrel latch, due to which the massive protrusion above the breech breech disengages from the window for ejection of spent cartridges in the bolt, then the barrel stops, and the bolt continues to move back.

The levers of the safety lever and the slide delay, as well as the magazine latch button in the PL-15 and PL-15K, are double-sided. In the form in which the prototype under the designation PL-14 was shown to the public, these levers, in order to reduce the thickness of the weapon, are made almost flat, almost not protruding beyond the side edges of the frame, and are placed in special recesses. The developers provided the PL-15, albeit not so flat, but more convenient with the mentioned weapon controls of a more traditional form. Presented at the end of August 2017 at the Army-2017 forum, the pistols were equipped with a slide delay lever new form with increased projection.

The small thickness of the PL-15 is one of the main features of this gun. For the 2016 sample, the maximum handle thickness is 28 mm. But this advantage has its own price - flat safety levers, as practical experience shows, are very difficult to manage in a stressful situation, whether it be a combat situation or sports competitions. There are two interchangeable options trigger mechanism. PL-15 - with only self-cocking (DAO) trigger-type trigger, with a hidden location of the trigger, a trigger pull of 4.5 kg and a trigger travel of 7 mm.

PL-15-01 - with a single-action striker trigger (DA), a trigger pull of 2.5 kg and a trigger stroke of 4 mm. The inertial drummer - when the trigger is lowered, the striker does not go beyond the surface of the shutter mirror, and the primer is broken due to the energy of the inertially moving drummer. The choice in favor of USM DAO with not the smallest trigger force was dictated by the initial desire of the designer to make the pistol without a safety lever, but the safety was still installed at the request of the customers.

Here we recall the situation with the Polish pistol VIS 35 "Radom", which the designer Piotr Vilniewczyc did not want to supply with a manually operated fuse, considering it not only useless, but also harmful, since in critical situation the owner can simply forget to turn off this safety or forget exactly where it is located on the weapon. But in the case of the Poles and VIS 35, the customer listened to the opinion of the designer.

The double-sided safety lever, the levers of which are located on both sides of the frame, separates the trigger and the trigger when turned on. The Lebedev pistol is equipped with an indicator of the presence of a cartridge in the chamber, made in the form of a pin protruding from the rear end of the bolt when there is a cartridge in the barrel. The trigger guard is made with a front ledge under the "grip", in which the shooter imposes forefinger supporting hand on this ledge, which, in my personal opinion, does not in any way affect the reduction in the toss of the pistol when fired.

At the bottom of the front of the frame there is a Picatinny rail, with which various tactical lights or laser designators can be attached to the weapon. Sights are unregulated, installed in dovetail grooves. Cartridges are fed from a two-row magazine with cartridges exiting in one row.

Pistol PL-15K Photo by AO Concern "Kalashnikov"

The shortened PL-15K, shown at the Army-2017 forum, approximately corresponds to the dimensions of the Glock 19. The pistol has a frame made of high-strength aluminum alloy with interchangeable pads of various sizes on the handle and a seat for installing an underbarrel flashlight and a laser designator. The lower sides of the handle have semi-circular holes for removing the magazine in difficult operating conditions, when you need to apply force by pulling the magazine by its cover.

The levers of the safety lever in the compact PL-15K are moved slightly forward and upward, closer to the slide delay. At the request of the user, the base barrel can be replaced with an elongated one having a thread on the muzzle to install a quick-detachable silencer. Interchangeable front sight and rear sight can have a different configuration at the request of the user. It is also possible to install a collimator sight on the shutter.

The exhibition copy was equipped with a single-action striker trigger with a trigger force of about 1.5 kg with a stroke length of 3 mm. Such a trigger is optional for the full-size PL-15. The service life of the PL-15 pistol per shot is at least 10,000 shots with Russian reinforced 7N21 cartridges, which are superior in power to commercial ammunition 9x19 mm Parabellum and corresponding to more powerful Western 9x19 NATO or 9x19 +P.

When firing 9mm Luger cartridges of normal power, the resource of the PL-15 is about 30,000 rounds. However, it should be mentioned here that the warranty resource of Glock pistols is 40,000 shots, and the actual shots of many copies of these practical Austrian pistols, famous for their reliability, amount to several hundred thousand. The frame is made of light alloy, but in the future it is planned to be made of polymer.

Compared to the PL-14 prototype, the PL-15 demonstrated in 2016 is distinguished by a slightly modified shape of the back of the bolt, the presence of a hole at the bottom of the handle for attaching a pistol strap, a new shape of the safety levers, slide delay, barrel lock and magazine latch. In addition, a version was shown equipped with an elongated barrel with threads on its muzzle for attaching a silencer.

In 2017, as already mentioned, the weapon received another change in the form of a different form of the shutter delay lever with an increased protrusion and a new form of the side faces of the shutter, made at a slight angle. The shape of the shutter PL-15 and PL-15K are similar to pistols Walther PPQ M2 and Steyr.

Of the obvious shortcomings, it should be noted that the safety levers do not protrude beyond the side faces of the frame, which can cause difficulties in handling them, especially with thick gloves, as well as an insufficiently wide trigger guard and an unnecessarily large overall length of the full-size PL-15.

In July 2019, the Kalashnikov Concern issued a sports version of the 9 mm Lebedev pistol under the designation SP1. The weapon is designed for practical shooting in the production and production optics classes. The magazine holds 16 cartridges with their output in one row and has display windows.

Gate sports pistol The SP1 received a mount for mounting a miniature Red Dot type pistol sight. The handle is made with a notch on its front and side selections for comfortable magazine removal. The SP1 pistol is equipped with sights Glock standard. The fuse, slide delay and magazine latch button are duplicated on both sides.
