Only three years later she was accepted into the Gnessin State Pedagogical Institute, where Sukhankina studied for just over a year. She took the documents because the teacher decided to retrain her to sing in a different manner: the teacher was sure that Rita should sing soprano, while she is naturally a mezzo-soprano.
A year later, her persistent character is bringing long-awaited results. Rita’s talent was nevertheless considered by the commission, which accepted her to study at the conservatory. After receiving her diploma, Margarita becomes an opera singer, performing on the stage of the capital's Bolshoi Theater.
The beginning of a musical career
Margarita shone on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater for 10 years. All this time, she has been actively interested in pop music and records songs with her good friend, producer Andrei Lityagin. Soon the band “Mirage” sang in her voice, most of the songs of which were performed by Sukhankina, and the rest by Natalya Gulkina. Despite the fact that the popular group earned astronomical money thanks to all-Union tours, Rita did not demand any royalties for the use of her vocals. Pop song became a real hobby for her.
Only when her hits began to sound from almost every radio in the country did Sukhankina truly get scared. The opera singer turned to Lityagin with a request so that no one anywhere would know who really owned the voice recorded on the records of the Mirage group. She was worried about her career and feared that she might be expelled from the conservatory. That is why fans of the pop group for decades had no idea that Natalya Vetlitskaya, Irina Saltykova and Tatyana Ovsienko only opened their mouths to the soundtrack.
Coming out of the shadows
Sukhankina remained an anonymous performer until she left the Bolshoi Theater. Only after this was she able to come out of the shadows and even record her solo “Chuvash album”. After graduating from the conservatory, Margarita went to take a master class in Germany, where she met her first husband, who became the famous Croatian entrepreneur Antun Maruna. Their short, but rather bright romance ended with a wedding. Rita truly fell in love with her chosen one, so she changed not only her name, but also her religious views, becoming a Catholic.
The young and happy couple lived in two countries, often moving to Germany or Switzerland. But the ambitious Sukhankina was not satisfied with the role of a housewife. She dreamed of being on stage, but her husband did not share her preferences and forbade her to do what she loved. Most likely, this was the reason for the divorce of the couple, who had lived together for just over two years.
After this, the singer married three more times, but was never able to find a real family happiness. Her second husband was a composer, her third was a pianist-accompanist, and her fourth was a businessman.
"Love affair at work"
Since 2010, Sukhankina has been a member of civil marriage with his old friend - producer Andrei Lityagin. The star couple decided to adopt children: they took the girl Lera and the boy Sergei from the orphanage. This serious and noble gesture provoked a real sensation in the media. I will not give my babies to anyone! Lera and Seryozha lived in orphanage, no one visited them for six months. Their biological mother deprived of parental rights. According to their documents, they didn’t have a dad at all: there is a dash in the “father” column. Sometimes Seryozha remembers his former life: “But when we lived with another mother, they didn’t feed us there...” I asked him if he wanted to see that other mother. He replied no.
Well, how can I give them away? The kids are with me legally. Now they have warmth, comfort, motherly love.
Alexander and Olga first abandoned their daughter and son, abandoned them, and now they are shouting “help”! But children are not toys...
I don’t want to condemn anyone, but a man who, by the age of 30, already has five convictions, wants to take my daughter and son away from me! What can he give to children? Or a mom who has problems with the bottle? Fortunately, even Alexander’s mother did not support the impulse of these would-be parents. We talked to her, and she honestly admitted that she was glad that the children were in good hands.
I really enjoy being a mom. I finally understand for whom I open my eyes in the morning. I have a meaning in life. Fur coats, diamonds, resorts - I've already seen all this. You can’t imagine how I feel when I come home and my children fly out of the house screaming towards me: “Hurray! Mommy has arrived!” Now I can call myself a truly happy woman.
And now, on the eve of March 8, after long months of bureaucratic ordeals, the 48-year-old singer becomes a mother for the first time, with two children at once - a brother and a sister. In Sukhankina’s house, four-year-old Seryozha and three-year-old Lera gradually “thaw out” and calmly fall asleep (at first, the new mother and grandmother had to hold their hands). The children learned to swim, they even began to tolerate the sounds of fireworks normally (and before they shouted in hysterics that these were not beautiful fireworks, but a scary guy in an orphanage shooting). “They began to come to their senses, but when I leave for work, they still periodically ask: “Mom, will you come back?” Mom, won’t you leave us?”
But soon over a happy life
the Sukhankin families have thickened storm clouds. The father and mother who suddenly showed up (who had not visited their son and daughter in the orphanage for almost a year) claim that they were illegally deprived of parental rights.
Repeatedly convicted Alexander and his 25-year-old wife Olga are sure that Lera and Sergei were taken from them illegally. Margarita Sukhankina met with the biological parents of her adopted children on the set of the “Let Them Talk” program. Andrey Malakhov says:
While I look at Olga, who is pregnant with her fifth (!) child (her mother took custody of her eldest daughter Polina, and sick one and a half year old Ivan has been living in an orphanage since birth), I sympathize with the tears of her husband Alexander (convicted five times), it turns out that initially in the column “ father” Lera and Seryozha had a dash. That is, Alexander had no time for fatherhood in prison, and he and the already pregnant Olga only married this spring. And in general, they are trying to improve their lives, and Olga is pregnant and now doesn’t drink at all, and Sasha takes on any job. And why none of them visits their disabled son in the orphanage (the father even confuses his name at first), they also cannot find a reasonable answer.
But Margarita Sukhankina, who learned about younger brother Lera and Seryozha, says: “Little Vanechka is still in the Orphanage, and I am very worried about him. How can this be, he is dear to them?.. And my children are absolutely dear to me, and I will do everything so that they stay with me. So that nothing will make them calm, normal human life no more trouble. Nothing and no one. I will stand until the last..."
Then Margarita says that at first, because of her unintelligible speech, she called her daughter “Chinese,” and Seryozha translated what Lera said. And she also talks about the fact that now they are not at all afraid of dogs and do not kick them. “Now Lera is cuddling with my dog, she can fall asleep on him, and he will lie without moving... Seryozha is already writing letters and knows their names, but he is very worried that he cannot connect them yet... And I have never deceived the children. Once, at my own risk, I showed the guys a film about a dolphin that got hit by a propeller and had its tail cut off. Although the movie was long and for those older, Seryozha watched it five times, enchanted: he didn’t want to eat or play, and then he said: “Mom, I want to see it.” “There will be dolphins for you,” I promised, and we went to the dolphinarium, where the boy touched the shiny side of the beluga whale with such tenderness... And the other day we went to the circus, and the next day there was a circus in my house too... "
Listening to Margarita dear grandmother Lera and Seryozha Natalya Anatolyevna suddenly says: “I have the only grandchildren, I don’t have any more, and... my soul, of course, cries, but I want them to really live well...”

The compositions of the second and third albums were performed by Tatyana Ovsienko, Irina Saltykova, and then Ekaterina Boldysheva, the singer herself for a long time remained in the shadows.
After graduation, the singer got a job at the Bolshoi Theater, where she sang roles under the name Maruna. In 2003, she completed her opera career and soon began performing as a duet with Natalia Gulkina, recording the album “Simply a Mirage” in this collaboration. In 2016, Margarita took up a vocal career: she created her own band and now performs not only her early songs, for which she received the permission of the authors, but also new compositions.

At first, Seryozha often bullied and offended Lera. Margarita patiently explained that she and her sister were family and should take care of each other and treat each other kindly.
