Generalization: Skills (Skyrim) ».

Ownership one-handed weapon(orig. ) - skill from the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, affecting effective use melee weapons, using one hand. Its undoubted advantage is the ability to instantly change tactics without losing experience in honing skills. You can rush into battle, armed with weapons in both hands, or you can slowly but surely move forward, protecting yourself with a shield or amulet with one hand, and making your way to the enemy with the other. In any scenario, weapons remain a key link. The growth of this skill is affected by touching the Stones of the Warrior and Lover.

Weapon types

One-handed weapons are quite common in Skyrim. There are only four types of it: maces, axes, swords and daggers. All of them differ in damage and weight. Light weapons allow you to inflict quick strikes Plus it makes less noise. Daggers and swords are the lightest, and therefore the easiest to attack with, but the damage from them is the least at first. Axes are a little heavier, which means that they hurt a little more. The heaviest weapons are maces. It is noteworthy that any weapon can be used not only for attack, but also for defense.

The more skillfully a warrior wields a weapon, the more deadly he becomes. Able students can even learn certain subtleties in the use of a particular type of weapon, learning, for example, to penetrate armor with a mace or deal additional damage with axes, leaving bleeding wounds. Also, stealth attacks play a significant role, which can drastically change the outcome of the battle.

Racial Benefits

In the beginning, this skill is best owned by:

  • redguards: +10;
  • Imperials, Khajiit, Nords and Orcs: +5.

Details

When you see a skill tree for the first time, which has separate branches for swords, axes, and maces, you should not rush to choose a weapon and hastily invest ability points in its development. The reason is that these branches only take into account base weapon damage, and not the final damage, which is obtained due to the skill level, the “Strong Hand” ability and the weapon upgrade. Below are examples with the maximum developed skill.

  • "Swordsman" (for swords)
Daedric sword upgraded to legendary level deals 72 damage. But its base damage is only 14 units. This means that there will be an additional 10.5 critical hit bonus, no matter how much damage the weapon does.
  • "Slayer" (for axes)
The bleed effect lasts for a few seconds and depends on the material level of the weapon. The simplest is iron. However, even a Daedric Ax will only cause 18 points of bleed damage, at three points per second. It is also worth noting that the effects of bleeding from each hit are cumulative. However, there is a suspicion that this does not work on all types of axes.
  • "Bonebreaker" (for maces)
The percentage of armor is indeed regularly ignored. The only problem is that most of the enemies in the game don't wear any armor at all. Even the draugr armor is simply painted on their bodies, and therefore cannot be removed. The only exception to this rule are human opponents who actually have something equipped.
  • "Double Whirlwind"
The ability does not affect attack speed when dual daggers are equipped. Perhaps this is due to the unique animation. However, with different types of weapons, the ability works properly.

Combinations

There are three possible combinations: weapon and shield, two weapons, magic and weapons.

All skills in the game are divided into three categories: combat, magic and thieves. This article will focus on combat skills.

The Blacksmithing skill is responsible for creating new items here. Offensive skills are Shooting, One-handed weapon And Two-handed weapon, and defensive - Heavy armor and Blocking. Activating the Warrior Stone increases combat skill growth rate by 20%.

hand-to-hand combat

In the game, in addition to various weapons and magic, you can also use your own fists. Damage in hand-to-hand combat is always dealt to the opponent's health, not to their magicka or stamina pool. Hand-to-hand combat is not as effective as other fighting styles, but it can still kill. If you play as a Khajiit and find yourself a pair of heavy gloves, then somewhere up to level 10, the damage dealt by the hands can exceed the damage from the weapons. It is important to note that with bare hands you can deal critical damage from stealth mode, but you can’t inflict poison on your hands. The distance of fighting with hands is approximately equal to the distance of fighting with daggers, the speed is average. Can be combined hand-to-hand combat using magic or a shield, striking with only one hand. Unfortunately, since hand-to-hand combat is not one of the skills, your development in the early game with heavy use of this style of combat can stall a bit.

Barehanded damage at the start of the game is fixed for each race. All races, with the exception of Argonians and Khajiit, deal damage by default equal to 4 . Argonians and Khajiit have base damage equal to 10 , and the latter also have a passive ability that increases the total damage with hands up to 22 . These values do not change with level and are associated with only one perk - Fists of Steel, which can be found in the branch heavy armor.

Humans and elves

Base unarmed damage: 4

Total Damage: 4

Argonians

Base unarmed damage: 10

No additional bonuses

Total Damage: 10

Khajiit

Base unarmed damage: 10

Additional damage: 12

Total Damage: 22

Increase damage in hand-to-hand combat

The Fists of Steel perk adds melee damage numerically equal to the base armor rating of the gloves worn by the protagonist. The maximum base rating is daedric gloves, and, accordingly, the damage added by them is equal to 18 . Growth of skills or improvement of gloves in the forge does not affect this number.

There is only one item in the game that improves unarmed combat skills. It's called Fighter's Gloves. You can find him in the Rat Hole, the infamous sewers of Riften, with a friend named Gian the First. This item can be broken on the altar of enchantment and then enchanted with a ring or other gloves to increase damage from punching. There is also a ceiling here and it is equal to 14 .

Thus, the maximum damage that you can achieve in the game without the use of alchemy is 10 (base) +12 (khajiit claws) + 18 ( daedric gloves) + 28 (ring and glove enchantment) = 68

Weapon fight

In order to use a weapon, you must assign it to the left or right hand. Two-handed weapons and bows require the use of both hands. Shields automatically appear in the left hand when equipped, and cannot be reassigned to the right hand.

If you deal enough damage when attacking to kill an enemy, the game may show a kill animation. If you have activated perks Merciless Strike And Crushing Blow in skills One-handed weapon And Two-handed weapon accordingly, sometimes you will be able to observe the decapitation of the enemy. Finishing off occurs only in relation to the last enemy in the immediate vicinity at a certain distance.

Two weapons

This fighting style is characterized by speed and pressure. If you assign a weapon to each trigger, you will not be able to block the enemy's attacks, but you will be able to interrupt his attacks with a continuous hail of blows. A double attack takes about one and a half times longer than a one-handed attack, but the damage dealt is much greater.

The double attack speed is based on the weight of the weapon in your left hand, while the stamina cost is based on the weight of the weapon in your right hand. Thus, it makes sense to hold a dagger in the left hand so that the double attack is faster. But, most likely, using one type of weapon will be more effective due to the perks used.

The Double Whirlwind perk increases weapon speed not only when hitting with both hands, but also with one if you have a weapon in both hands.

If you assign a spell to the main hand, then you will lose the bonuses of combat with a dual weapon, while assigning spells or a shield to the other hand, the bonuses remain.

Power attacks

A power attack is carried out by holding the corresponding key. It deals twice as much damage as a normal attack, and also gives a chance to stun the enemy. Your stamina decreases according to the following formula:

Power attack stamina cost = (20 + weapon weight) * attack cost multiplier * (1 - perk effect)

The attack cost multiplier is 2 for a power attack with one hand and 3 for an attack from two hands (the protagonist inflicts 3 hits in a row).

Depending on the direction of movement, you can perform various power attacks. So, when performing a forward power attack, you will lunge, which will quickly close the distance between the enemy and you. Power attack while moving backwards can effectively counteract the blows of the enemy. Using the Fan Attack perk allows you to deal damage to all enemies in front of you with power attacks with a two-handed weapon while moving sideways.

The stamina that is spent on an attack does not determine the damage dealt to enemies, so if you began to spend less stamina on an attack, this does not mean that the damage has decreased.

WITH comparison of different fighting styles

Possible variations of different fighting styles are described below. The consideration does not include hand-to-hand combat, since it was discussed above, and combat with a weapon in one hand, because it is obviously weaker than combat with two-handed weapons.

One-handed weapon and shield

One of the most popular fighting styles, balancing between attack and defense. One of the benefits of this fighting style is the passive bonus to overall armor rating that the shield provides. Leveling the Blocking skill minimizes physical damage received. perk Elemental Protection in Block, reduces magic damage from elemental spells by half.

Unfortunately, to get the full benefit of this fighting style, you need to spend a large number of perks - 25 . Even a more “budget” option with only the left side of the Blocking skill tree and investing in the Strong Arm and Fighting Stance perks in One-handed weapon will require about 15 perks. For the same number of perks, you can use two-handed weapons more effectively.

Two-handed weapon

Using this fighting style will make you less protected than using a weapon and a shield, however, the benefits are also great: more damage per second, as well as truly devastating power attacks. In this case, you can still use the block, albeit not as effectively. In order to get the full benefit of this fighting style, you need to spend only 15 perks.

Two weapons

This fighting style is characterized by the least defense among all the others. The in-game tooltip states that a two-handed strike deals twice as much damage at once, but this is not entirely true, because it takes 50% more time. And the total damage per second increases to 133% of the base. The Double Whirlwind perk speeds up attacks with one, two hands, as well as power attacks (if the weapon is in both hands). With two-handed power attacks, you land a total of three hits in a row. The main perks for this combat style are Strong Arm, Fighting Stance, Double Whirlwind and Double grinder. It will take about 9 perks. The payback for such cheapness is the almost complete lack of protection and increased consumption of stamina, so you should take care of potions to restore health and stamina in advance, and act decisively and quickly in battle. Redguards with Battle Fury can do without stamina potions.

word warrior

Word warriors are skilled at combining a weapon in their main hand (because weapons in that hand are 15% faster) and a spell in the other. Word Warriors can be divided into two categories: some add magic to melee weapon damage, others use support spells. The former concentrate on the school of destruction and weaken the enemy at a long distance and, after the depletion of the magic supply, use the weapon. Others call on Oblivion creatures to help, heal themselves, etc. Since one of your hands can have absolutely any type of spell, from flame jet to illusion spells, it is quite difficult to say how many perks you need to see the most efficient work selected style. The most "budget" warrior of the word is obtained after taking the perks Strong arm, Fighting stance and several from the school of Restoration (a full-fledged school of magic). This fighting style is very easy to combine with the above two-weapon fighting style. Master

Difficulty also affects the cost and duration of the Change spell Balance.

Fall Damage

If you fall from high altitude, you will receive a certain damage, which is calculated by the following formula:

Fall damage = ((height - 600) * 0.1)^1.45 * modifiers

Perk Soft padding in skill heavy armor Reduces fall damage by half.

The damage that other characters receive is calculated using a more "harsh" formula:

Fall damage = ((height - 450) * 0.1)^1.65 * modifiers

Addition

  • Two-handed combat improves not two-handed weapons, but one-handed weapons.
  • Unlike the previous two games in the Morrowind and Oblivion series, weapons in Skyrim do not require repair, cannot break, and do not degrade when used.
  • Fighting is one of the points of persuasion. After the victory, the character will give you all the information you need.
  • Swords, axes and maces are combined into one skill, and the required specialization is determined by perks.
  • Using your fists as a weapon will not level you up, as hand-to-hand combat isn't tied to any of the skills.

So, we all know that as we level up, our Dovahkiin gets skill points. Now let's try to figure out where to put them, so that it would not be excruciatingly painful for the aimlessly lived levels.

Attention! this text is a translation of the official English guide, aimed at users of the localized version. That is, the names of skills and perks are translated in accordance with the official translation. If you are a fan of the original, I advise you to read the guide in the original.

★ This icon means that this perk is more interesting than others from the point of view of the compiler of the official guide. Like it or not - he knows better

Also, for each skill there is short description. For the most part, it is written in the spirit of Captain Obvious. So if you understand what a skill is and what it increases from, feel free to skip the entire text at the beginning of the spoiler (skill names are highlighted - don't miss it).

blacksmith craft

You can invest 10 skill points.

Blacksmithing is a craft that allows you to create and improve weapons and armor. To do this, you need a forge (crafting), a workbench (armor upgrade) or a grindstone (weapon upgrade). Any actions performed with these items will increase your blacksmithing skill by an individual amount, depending on the difficulty of the item.

For the fastest leveling of a skill, the creators recommend not only creating weapons and armor, but also immediately improving them.

Although it doesn't smell of balance - forging penny daggers with minimal resource requirements (1 iron ingot, 1 strip of leather) is more profitable than expensive sets of armor. Therefore, a real munchkin will stock up on several tons of iron ingots and a bag of straps, after which he will easily and quickly upgrade his skill to the maximum. (hereinafter - translator's note)

Iron and leather items are available initially, the rest are unlocked as perks are learned. Improvement of any items is also immediately available, but initially it will not be so effective.

Mining, smelting metal, and tanning allow you to create crafting materials on your own, but the skill level does not increase. Also, blacksmithing is useful for developing the enchantment skill, as it can provide a novice sorcerer with working material.

The choice of perk tree is related to what type of armor you prefer: light or heavy.

1. Steel armor

Allows you to create steel armor and weapons, increases the quality of improvement of all items.

Requirements: Blacksmithing 20

2. Wizard blacksmith ★

Allows you to upgrade enchanted items.

Requirements: Blacksmithing 60

Probably the most requested perk. Without it, unique items with enchantments inaccessible to the player will quickly become useless trash. It also allows you to significantly raise the selling price of an unnecessary artifact.

3. Elven armor

Allows the creation of elven armor and weapons, increases the quality of improvement of all items.

Requirements: Blacksmithing 40, Steel Armor

4. Complex types armor

Allows you to create lamellar and plate armor, increases the quality of improvement of all items.

Requirements: Blacksmithing 50, Elven Armor

5. glass armor

Well, you understand, right? The description is standard, so I don’t see the point in repeating it.

Prerequisites: Blacksmithing 70, Advanced armor types

6. Dwemer armor ★

Requirements: Blacksmithing 30, Steel Armor

A very interesting perk in terms of pumping and replenishing the wallet - there are quite a lot of Dwemer ruins, and various scrap metal is in order. If your hero is physically strong, you can combine skill leveling (faster, because Dwemer items are considered more difficult than iron items) with a significant replenishment of the wallet.

Before going to the ruins, do not be too lazy to look (or write out on a piece of paper, it is quite large) in the smelter for a list of materials for Dwemer metal ingots, because not all scrap metal is equally useful. And dragging a piece of iron weighing 25 pounds into the city and finding out that it can only be sold for a miserable 30 coins is a shame.

7. Orc Armor

Requirements: Blacksmithing 50, Dwemer Armor

8. Ebony Armor

Requirements: Blacksmithing 80, Orc Armor

9 Daedric Armor

Requirements: Blacksmithing 90, Ebony Armor

Daedric equipment is not sold in stores, so there are two ways to get it: create it or find it in the world.

10. Dragon Armor

Similar to the previous ones, but there will be no new weapons - only armor.

Requirements: Blacksmithing 100, Glass Armor or Daedric Armor

Neither dragon scale armor nor dragon shell armor (light and heavy, respectively) are sold in stores. So you can get it again in two ways: create or find.

Heavy armor

You can invest 12 skill points.

Heavy Armor increases the effectiveness of the following armors: Iron, Steel, Dwemer, Orc, Ebony, Daedric, and Draconic Carapace. These types of armor provide excellent protection, but have big weight and slow down the character. The best types of armor are very rare, so simplest way to get them - raise blacksmithing to the appropriate level and create them yourself.

This skill increases every time you take damage from melee weapons. The amount of the increase depends on the amount of incoming damage if the character is wearing armor different types- damage for skill growth is divided in proportion to the number of items of each type. Therefore, it is advisable not to try to focus only on it.

The heavy armor perk tree is divided into two branches: the left one contains perks that can give a tactical advantage in certain situations, the right one increases the effectiveness of the armor of a full set of heavy armor in battle (helmet, cuirass, gloves, boots).

Unarmed attacks do not increase any of the skills, but can be interesting from a roleplaying point of view, especially to Khajiit (the Claws racial trait still works). Also, this perk greatly simplifies fights.

7. Good equipment ★

A full set of heavy armor grants an additional 25% armor rating bonus.

Requirements: Heavy Armor 30, Juggernaut 1

The bonus stacks with the effect of other perks. Highly desirable for all characters who specialize in heavy armor.

8. Soft padding

Reduces fall damage by 50% when wearing a full set.

Requirements: Heavy Armor 50, Fists of Steel

Now falling off a cliff while exploring the world is not so dangerous for health.

9. Center of gravity

When using a full set, you lose balance 50% less often.

Requirements: Heavy armor 50, Good equipment

10. Hard training

Heavy armor equipped on a character weighs nothing and does not slow down movements.

Requirements: Heavy Armor 70, Soft Padding

The same effect can be obtained by finding the appropriate guardian stone.

11. Complete set

Grants an additional 25% to armor class when wearing a full set of armor of the same type.

Requirements: Heavy Armor 70, Center of Gravity

Stacks with other perks. Finding a full set of Draconic or Daedric armor isn't easy, at least if you don't have blacksmithing skills.

12. Reflection of blows

Gives a 10% chance to reflect melee damage back to the enemy while wearing a full set of heavy armor.

Requirements: Heavy Armor 100, Full Set

Blocking

You can invest 13 skill points.

Blocking allows you to defend against enemy attacks with a shield or weapon. The skill level affects the amount of damage absorbed and how often you lose your balance when blocking a blow.

The skill increases with each successful block (based on total damage) and when pushing with a shield or weapon.

Attention: blocking does not necessarily require a shield, the skill and perks work when blocking with a weapon. But if you use a weapon or magic in your left hand, then blocking becomes impossible.

In the perk tree, the left side is responsible for damage reduction (requires a shield), and the right side is for offensive blocking.

1-5. Shieldbearer (5 levels)

Blocking is 20/25/30/35/40% more effective

Requirements: Block 0/20/40/60/80

6. Shooting arrows

The shield completely absorbs the damage of arrows when blocking.

Useful for dealing with archers. But it is not particularly effective: if there are several enemies, then it will hardly be possible to close with a shield in time.

7. Power punch flat

Allows you to forcefully push the enemy while blocking.

Requirements: Block 30, Shield Bearer 1

The push is so strong that the enemy can go flying. An effective heal for your melee arsenal, especially if you prefer shield combat.

8. Fast reflexes

Slows down time when blocking an enemy's power attack.

Requirements: Block 30, Shield Bearer 1

Gives you the ability to dodge or counterattack your opponent.

9. Fatal blow flat

Increases point damage by 5 times.

Requirements: Block 50, Flat Power Strike

Pushes do not deal serious damage, so they are an auxiliary move. Even despite the bonus, it's still easier to kill with a sword than to score with a shield.

10. Protection from the elements ★

When blocking with a shield, protection against fire, cold and electricity is increased by 50%.

Requirements: Block 50, Deflect Arrows

Simplifies fights with battle mages. Combined with the Breton racial trait or the Magic Resistance perk (in the alteration skill) can give absolute protection against all three elements.

11. Block on the run

When blocking with a shield, movement speed drops less.

Requirements: Block 70, Elemental Protection

Allows you to quickly close the distance to the archer or mage, and also increases the range of the Living Hammer perk.

12. Disarm ★

When pushing, you can disarm the enemy.

Requirements: Block 70, Fatal Flat Blow

Gives a chance to knock a weapon out of an enemy's hands if it is pushed during a power attack. The enemy usually has spare weapon(most often a sword or dagger), less effective than the main one, so it will become easier to win.

This perk can be replaced with the appropriate shout.

13. Living Hammer

Sprinting in combination with blocking with a shield knocks down most enemies.

Requirements: Block 100, Block while running, or Disarm

Allows you to pave the way through the crowd of opponents or buy time for a break in a hot battle.

Two-handed weapon

19 skill points can be invested

Two-Handed Weapons increases the effectiveness of weapons such as two-handed swords, axes, and war hammers. The skill increase occurs with each hit and depends on the damage dealt (damage from enchantment is not taken into account), the number of hits does not matter.

1-5. Barbarian (5 levels) ★

Increases damage dealt by two-handed weapons by 20/40/60/80/100%.

Requirements: Two-handed weapon 0/20/40/60/80

It does not depend on the type of weapon used, therefore it is useful for all lovers of heavy pieces of iron.

6. Champion Stance ★

Power attacks with two-handed weapons require 25% less stamina.

Requirements: Two-Handed Weapon 20, Barbarian 1

Allows you to carry out power attacks more often. Considering their destructive power, this would be an excellent choice.

7-9. Deep Wounds (3 levels)

When attacking with a two-handed sword, there is a 10/15/20% chance to deal critical damage.

Critical hits increase damage by 50%. On average, at level 1, damage increases by 5%, and at level 3 - by 15%. Also good, but the barbarian is better.

10-12. Dismantler (3 levels)

Ax attacks deal additional bleeding damage.

Requirements: Two-Handed Weapon 30/60/90, Barbarian 1

Blood loss depends on the damage of the ax, but in general each hit gives 1-3 damage for 3-6 seconds. As the level increases, the effect increases. It is, in fact, an analogue of poison with a short duration of effect.

13-15. Skull Crusher (3 levels)

Hammer attack ignores 25/50/75% of the target's armor.

Requirements: Two-handed weapon 30/60/90

16. Crushing Blow

Standing power attacks grant a 25% bonus to damage and a chance to sever the enemy's head.

17. Great Rush

Requirements: Two-Handed Weapon 50, Champion's Stance

Weaker than the description suggests: double crits only pierce on the first hit and (more importantly) difficult to execute. But for playing the role of a berserker, it is invaluable.

18. Fan attack

A sideways power attack deals damage to all targets in front of you.

Requirements: Two-Handed Weapon 70, Crushing Blow or Great Charge

Indispensable for the extermination of weak, but numerous opponents or the boss's retinue.

19. Martial artist

Backwards power attack has a 25% chance to paralyze the enemy.

Requirements: Two-Handed Weapon 100, Fan Attack

One-handed weapon

You can invest 21 skill points.

One-handed weapons increase the effectiveness of weapons such as swords, battle axes, maces, and daggers. The skill increase occurs with each hit and depends on the damage dealt (damage from enchantment is not taken into account), the number of hits does not matter. So whether you kill a bandit with 10 pokes of a dagger or three blows of a mace, it doesn't matter.

Some perks only affect certain kind weapons, so if you use everything in a row - spend skill points on more versatile ones.

1-5. Strong hand (5 levels) ★

One-handed weapons deal 20/40/60/80/100% more damage.

Requirements: One-handed weapon 0/2040/60/80

It does not depend on the type of weapon used, therefore it is useful for all swordsmen.

6. Fighting stance ★

Power attacks require 25% less stamina.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 20, Strong Hand 1

Allows you to carry out power attacks more often. Especially useful if you're looking for two-handed attacks, as it pairs well with the Double Whirlwind and Double Meat Grinder perks.

7-9. Swordsman (3 levels)

Sword attacks have a 10/15/20% chance to deal critical damage.

Critical hits increase damage by 50%. On average, at level 1, damage increases by 5%, and at level 3 - by 15%. Also good, but a strong hand is better.

10-12. Bonebreaker (3 levels)

A mace attack ignores 25/50/75% of the target's armor.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 30/60/90, Strong Hand 1

Useless against unarmored targets, but makes it easier to fight against heavily armored opponents. For example, most bosses.

13-15. Grunt (3 levels)

Ax attacks deal additional bleeding damage.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 30/60/90, Strong Hand 1

Blood loss depends on the damage of the ax, but in general each hit gives 1-3 damage for 3-6 seconds. As the level increases, the effect increases. It is, in fact, an analogue of poison with a short duration of effect.

16-17. Double whirlwind (2 levels)

Attack with two hands is 20/35% faster.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 30/50, Strong Hand 1

18. Snatch

Allows you to carry out a power attack while sprinting. The critical damage dealt is doubled.

Weaker than the description suggests: double crits only pierce on the first hit and (more importantly) difficult to execute. Although in the case of playing the role of a berserker with two swords, it can be useful: the swordsman perk and weapons in both hands provide a good chance of a critical hit.

19. Ruthless Strike

Standing Power Attacks deal 25% more damage.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 50, Fighting Stance

Gives a significant damage bonus. Chopping off the head is suitable only as a fatality - it works only when the enemy dies (there is no chance of killing with one blow).

20. Double meat grinder ★

Dual-handed power attacks deal 50% more damage.

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 70, Dual Whirlwind 1

A great perk if your character is dual-wielding - the effect is much higher than the Relentless Strike and Dash perks (and stacks with both).

21. Paralyzing Strike

Power attack with moving backwards paralyzes the enemy in 25% of cases..

Requirements: One-Handed Weapon 100, Merciless Strike or Dash

Shooting

16 skill points can be invested

Shooting increases the effectiveness of using bows. The skill increase occurs with each hit and depends on the damage dealt (damage from the enchantment is not taken into account, the bonus damage from the arrow is taken into account), the number of arrows spent does not matter. If the enemy completely blocks the arrow, then the skill increase does not occur.

1-5. Overstretch (5 levels) ★

Bows deal 20/40/60/80/100% more damage.

The only damage perk. Be sure to take it first.

6-8. Critical Shot (3 levels)

The arrow has a 10/15/20% chance to critically hit.

Requirements: Shooting 30/60/90, Overstretch 1

Critical hits increase damage by 50%. On average, at level 1, damage increases by 5%, and at level 3 - by 15%. Also good, but over-tensioning is better.

9. Eagle eye ★

Pressing the "block" key while aiming zooms the picture.

Requirements: Shooting 30, Overstretch 1

Makes you feel like a sniper. Especially useful in conjunction with the Stealth skill - now the first shot will more often become the last for the enemy.

10-11. Steady Hand (Level 2)

Time slows down by 50/50% while aiming with zoom

Requirements: Marksmanship 40/60, Eagle Eye

Useful for minimizing miss due to target moving at the wrong time. Especially useful for shooting at flying dragons (although you still need to take lead).

12. Thrifty hunter

Twice as many of your arrows are stored on corpses.

Requirements: Archery 50, Critical Hit 1

Useful only when using rare and expensive arrows. If you use common ones (iron, steel, etc.), then there are much more interesting options.

13. Powerful shot ★

An arrow hit causes all but the largest enemies to stagger 50% of the time.

Requirements: Marksmanship 50, Eagle Eye

A very useful skill: in the time until the enemy regains balance, you can fire one or two more arrows. It also cancels spell casting and block. Yes, and to break the distance, if the enemy came close, it will not be superfluous for the archer.

14. Gamekeeper

Movement speed decreases less while aiming.

Requirements: Marksmanship 60, Thrifty Hunter

15. Fast shooting

String draws 30% faster.

Requirements: Marksmanship 70, Power Shot

16. Sniper

15% of arrows will paralyze the victim for 10 seconds.

Requirements: Archery 100, Rapid Fire OR Ranger

Useful at medium and close range, as it allows you to easily finish off a helpless enemy. And it’s pointless at long range - a paralyzed victim falls, which means getting into it will become at least more difficult.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim contains a lot of loot that no player can have the same stock after a couple of minutes of playing. Weapons, of course, are vital, but what to choose?

With Skyrim now out on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR, we're revisiting our Skyrim guides to make sure new adventurers have everything they need to make the most of this massive game. In this guide, we are talking about weapons.

In truth, there aren't many absolutely better weapons in Skyrim, thanks to the fact that some use of enchantments and other mechanics can make just about any weapon viable with any difficulty - even your bare fists! With that said, some of the most known species weapons in the game are unique weapon, which can be found in certain places or through certain quests. Each unique weapon has its own set properties, unique name and very often an enchantment that will give it some special advantage.

What weapon do you have in Skyrim, you can write about it in the comments!

Best Skyrim Daggers

There are more than ten unique daggers, but we're going to focus on a couple that we think are especially excellent. If you're creating a character for stealth play, they can prove to be quite a significant weapon for you for quite some time.

Mehrunes Razor

Mehrunes' Razor is a decent little dagger thanks to its base damage status of 11, but what really sets it apart is its enchantments. Any strike with Mehrunes' Razor has a chance to instantly kill the enemy.

To get the Razor of Mehrunes, you need to complete the quest "Pieces of the Past" and kill Silus Vesuya at the end of the quest. You will be prompted to complete this quest once you reach level 20 via the courier, or you may stumble upon the quest while walking around Dawnstar; where they will tell you about the museum of Silus, that's where you need to go to start the mission.

Blade of Woe

This dagger is even more powerful than the Mehrunes Razor with a base damage of 12, its enchantment is useful for fighting powerful enemies - each hit absorbs 10 health points.

The Blade of Woe can be obtained from an NPC during the Death Incarnate quest, part of the Dark Brotherhood faction questline. You can also follow the early quest steps and kill Astrid during the With Friends Like These quest. You will be able to take the Blade of Woe from her body, but you will no longer be able to join the brotherhood.

Weapon Damage Weight Upgrade with Ingot, Perk Effect
Dragon Bone Dagger 12 6,5 Dragon bone, dragon armor No
Blade of Woe 12 7 steel ingot Drain 10 health

Mace of Molag Bal

This artifact is quite powerful, with a base damage of 16. It also comes with an enchantment that takes away 25 damage, stamina, and magicka. On top of that, if the target dies within 3 seconds, you will refill gem shower.
