What modules to install on the bulldog tank. M41 "Bulldog Walker" - description, guide, characteristics, recommendations and reviews. Tactical and technical characteristics of the M41A2 Walker Bulldog light tank

M41 bulldog guide review of the tank, what equipment to install and what perks to upgrade the crew, as well as a video on the tank, how to tank, how to play on it to get silver and experience. M41 bulldog This is a kind of tank.

For its level, it has a good gun. By the way, I advise you to put on it not a top-end one, but one with a drum, it has a mega lot of shells, as many as 10 pieces. I don’t know what the potatoes were guided by when screwing such a capacious drum and where the crew is among the 10 shells) )).

But the fact remains a fact and you won’t know if you install this gun. You need to play an active game, preferably moving from place to place shooting damage. Fortunately, the speed and stealth of the tank allow this to be done. Remarkable vertical aiming angles also do their job. You can shoot damage like normal medium tank leaning out from behind the hill.

Advantages of the M41 Bulldog tank

  1. The speed is excellent, allowing you to quickly escape from light.
  2. A very worthy weapon with good DPM of almost 2000 damage per minute, although the CD of the drum is long, but 10 shells is no joke.
  3. Good vertical aiming angles allow you to play almost without noticing any inconvenience.

Disadvantages of M41 bulldog

  1. As usual with light tanks, this is their cardboard appearance and low HP.
  2. The ammo rack is criticized almost every battle
  3. Gold shells have very mediocre penetration, but at the same time are expensive. Although whoever puts them on the drum) )) 10 shells will probably leave you without pants and underpants too.
  4. Reloading the drum could be smaller, although with 10 shells it is almost not needed at all. So there are still some shortcomings.
  5. The dimensions of the tank are also large, and if it were made a little smaller it would certainly be better.

M41 bulldog what equipment to install.

Well, firstly, it’s definitely a camouflage network, secondly, optics and thirdly, horns if you like to shine on enemies, and if not, then install ventilation and anti-fragmentation optics so that there are fewer crits.

m41 bulldog what perks to download for the crew.

Well, firstly, those who like to shine need to deflate the commander, everyone else repairs or camouflage, then those who have the camouflage pumped out, then the eagle eye, the vindictive smooth turn of the turret, then the military brotherhood to all. To make it more clear, I’ll give a picture below of the perks, otherwise you’ll get confused.

is an American light tank of the seventh level, which will appear in the game in patch 0.9.3. US aircraft can surprise with their original weapons, and this machine did not stand aside. Do you want to know what's so interesting about him? Details inside

Interesting on the topic: Content:

The branch of US light tanks is very reminiscent friendly family, where all tanks from Chaffee (level 5) to T49 (level 8) are like brothers, and their level is responsible for the age of each family member :). The fact is that all the characteristics of the car from each new car increase and distinctive features one can only name their weapons. here is the M41 Walker Bulldog there is such an interesting gun :)

Main characteristics:
  • Level - 7;
  • Balance weight - 32.4;
  • Durability - 910 HP;
  • Maximum speed forward/backward - 72/24 km/h;
  • View radius - 400 m;
  • Communication range - 745 m;
  • Weight - 23,246 kg;
  • Experience required for leveling up is 56,300 XP;
  • Price - 1,370,000 silver.

The Bulldog is closest in playing style to the AMX 13-75. A light tank of the 7th level, it has good driving characteristics of a firefly and at the same time is not deprived in terms of weapons. Logically, the M 41 is a logical continuation of the T37, so we get a very similar car, but with all the characteristics improved
More details about the main characteristics:

. Mixing time - 2.1 s.
. Accuracy - 0.4 m.
Engine:
. Power - 550 l/s.
. Maximum speed - 72 km/h.
Recommended equipment:
Depending on the playing style, there may be several options, but the most universal option is: “Vertical aiming stabilizer”, “Coated optics”, “Improved ventilation”.
Ventilation will be useful for any tank. Optics is a plus of 40 meters to your wonderful view. The stabilizer will make it easier to destroy any target, because shooting on the move is not an easy task, and most often the tank stops only before entering the hangar.
Equipment.
The set of equipment is the most standard: first aid kit, repair kit and fire extinguisher. Of course, at your own peril and risk, you can replace the fire extinguisher with a box of cola.
Crew.

. The commander has a sixth sense for warning of light and an eagle eye for increased visibility.
. Gunner - smooth turret rotation, sniper (alternatively, sniper can be learned first. With your rapid-fire gun, this perk will be of real use).
. The driver is the king of the off-road, smooth ride.
. Loader - non-contact ammo rack (very important! Since it is in the forehead, it is criticized often.)
The third ability is better to learn " The Brotherhood of War“, although a camouflage upgrade for the entire crew wouldn’t hurt.
Weak sides M41 Walker Bulldog.
An important disadvantage for any LT is its large dimensions. Although, you should have already gotten used to it while riding the T37. There is also practically no armor and everything that hits the bulldog causes damage to it. Another disadvantage is the extremely long reload time of the drum gun. Because of this, it is an order of magnitude inferior to the second top one in terms of DPM.
Strengths of the M41 Walker Bulldog.
It’s very nice that there are significantly more pros than cons. This is a wonderful tank, quite comfortable in the game. It has a good top speed of 72 km/h and agility of 56 degrees per second. Equipped with good weapons. Or rather, a choice of two weapons. One with an excellent loading drum, and the second is more comfortable, accurate, with a large DPM, but without a drum. Also, an excellent view of 400 meters gives you the right to the first shot. Although sometimes it is not necessary to shoot, the M41 very successfully serves as a light on the battlefield.
Combat tactics for the M41 Walker Bulldog.
The first part of the battle we play the role of active or passive light. We reconnoiter the positions of enemy tanks and transmit their coordinates to our allies to inflict damage. Towards the end of the battle (or maybe even towards the middle) we are planning a breakthrough to the artillery. In some situations, a bulldog can significantly help to hold back or push through an incredibly strong flank, going behind the defending opponents. For example, T 95 in the Himmsdorf banana, which holds back 3-4 heavy tank allies, without good support it can become just an easy frag for a nimble light tank. You just need to wait for the turtle to shoot and, while reloading, rush towards its stern.
By the way, if, by the will of randomness, you were thrown into the minimum level of battles, and for the M41 this is the 8th, then no one will forbid you to play the role of a medium tank. The only thing that distinguishes you from representatives of this class is the complete lack of armor (although STs do not boast of this indicator) and not so big damage from a shot. However, this doesn’t bother the same 13-75, and it shouldn’t bother you.

Description

American light tank, developed after the Second World War, had a classic layout, a crew of 4 people and combat mass 23.2 tons. Armed with a 76-mm M32 rifled gun with a 60-caliber barrel and two machine guns: an anti-aircraft 12.7 Browning M2HB and a coaxial 7.62 Browning M1919A4E1 cannon. The M41A1 was designed to replace the now obsolete M24 "Chaffee".

Main characteristics

Armor protection and survivability

The armor of the tank is 32 mm maximum, which in the realities of its combat rating means that there is no armor. Any anti-aircraft gun, and sometimes a 12.7 mm machine gun, can penetrate this armor and damage the modules and crew of this tank. Armor for a "bulldog" is mobility and the ability to avoid return fire. Sometimes, there are ricochets from the “cheeks” of the turret and the gun mantlet, and it also happens that the fuse of chamber shells does not fire on such thin armor - but this happens so rarely that you should not hope for it.

Mobility

Its low weight and good specific engine power provide the tank with fairly high mobility, which allows it to quite successfully perform flanking maneuvers, as well as quite quickly climb various types of hills, both on and off roads. The maximum speed when driving over rough terrain is 41 km/h. Although this figure is higher on roads, the declared maximum 72 km/h can only be reached when descending from a hill. Also, due to its low weight, the tank has one feature - at high speed it can roll over when hitting a wooden fence or similar wooden obstacles. Reverse speed - 18 km/h.

Armament

Main weapon

The main armament of the tank is a 76-mm M32 rifled gun. Its starting ammunition includes the M339 armor-piercing sharp-headed solid projectile with 180 mm penetration and the M352 high-explosive fragmentation projectile with 12 mm penetration. As is clear from the figures, the vehicle cannot show outstanding results with the first type of projectile; its armor penetration characteristics do not allow it to confidently penetrate many heavy (and even some medium) tanks. The next projectile is the M319 armor-piercing sabot projectile with 208 mm penetration, which allows it to penetrate any enemy encountered at a certain angle. The last and best projectile is the M331A2 armor-piercing sub-caliber projectile with a penetration of 232 mm, which makes the gun of this tank excellent for its BR. The first shot should disarm the enemy, damaging his gunner or the breech of the gun, then immobilize him, and after that methodically incapacitate the crew members. The gun also has good vertical guidance angles: from -10 degrees to +20

A 7.62-mm machine gun is paired with the cannon, its ammunition capacity is 4,900 rounds. The M2 anti-aircraft 12.7 mm machine gun is mounted on the turret roof near the commander's hatch. This machine gun has 2175 rounds of ammunition.

Machine gun weapons

Directional and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight aircraft, they are also effective against lightly armored vehicles. Evaluate machine gun weapons and give recommendations for their use.

Use in combat

M41A1 is logical development branches of American light tanks - a mobile, lightly armored unit with a good gun, designed for flanking and daring raids behind enemy lines. The 500 hp engine is capable of accelerating the Bulldog up to 40 km/h forward on the ground and up to 10 km/h backwards, which gives it excellent dynamics to perform its tasks. A gun with M331A2 sub-caliber shells with 232 mm penetration and a reload time of 6.6 seconds allows you to effectively hit all enemies that this vehicle may encounter. On the other hand, due to the fact that the projectile is sub-caliber, the affected area is extremely small, due to the specifics of this type ammunition. Therefore, to operate effectively on a tank, you will need to study weak points and location of modules and crew members probable opponents. It has armor as such only in theory, because most often even 20-mm guns can penetrate it and cause damage to modules or crew. It is for this reason that the tank often suffers from enemy anti-aircraft self-propelled guns. Also, the "Bulldog" has quite large dimensions; in the on-board projection it is even larger than the IS-2 - therefore, a good knowledge of maps and the landscape on them is necessary to skillfully evade enemy eyes.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

  • A top caliber subcaliber penetrates enough armor for its rank
  • A powerful engine and low weight in general allow you to move more or less quickly on the battlefield
  • Fairly high rate of fire
  • Large-caliber anti-aircraft machine gun
  • There is a night vision device

Flaws:

  • The armor is purely bulletproof. The M41A1 can be shot through the forehead even by anti-aircraft guns; artillery and aerial bombs are a serious danger;
  • The vehicle is quite large in size - spotting and hitting this tank is as easy as shelling pears. This is worth remembering constantly;
  • Lack of a stabilizer - the gun swings for a very long time after stopping, which is a serious drawback for a light tank;
  • Stock shells have low armor penetration and are also prone to ricochets and lack of penetration. It makes sense to use only a top-end sub-caliber as the main one;
  • Low vertical guidance speed;
  • A low magnification sight does not allow firing at long distances.

"Bulldogs before commissioning"

M41 in Vietnam

The light tank M41 Walker Bulldog, designed to replace the M24 Chaffee and being an enlarged copy of it, began to be designed in 1946, despite the fact that the concept of this vehicle originated in 1942, during the development of the T20 medium tank. Therefore, in terms of its combat weight, the T37 (prototype M41) approached the weight of the first modifications of the Soviet medium tank T-34, and in terms of weapon power, it surpassed it.

Already in 1949, the first version of the new light tank was ready - T37-I, equipped with a 76.2 mm M32 cannon. The next version of the T37-II had a turret installed new form with a reinforced mask. The vehicle was equipped with a gun stabilization system and a rangefinder, and the ammunition racks were also improved. On the T37-III modification, which later became light tank M41, automation reached a new level: an automatic loader was installed, and the gun stabilization system was replaced with a new one manufactured by IBM.

In 1950, the vehicle was put into service under the designation M41 Little Bulldog, but subsequently, after the death of General W. Walker in Korea as a result of a car accident, it was renamed Walker Bulldog. In the same year, the Cadillac Motor Car M41 Walker Bulldog went into mass production and entered service with the troops in 1951.

The combat weight of the new tank was 23.5 tons. It was equipped with a 6-cylinder air-cooled Continental AOS-895-3 gasoline engine with a power of 500 hp. The M41 highway range was 161 km. The car reached a speed of 72 km/h. The armor of the light tank varied from 13 to 32 mm, depending on the location of the armor.

The M41 Walker Bulldog was equipped with a 76.2 mm M32 gun with 57 unitary rounds. The vehicle was equipped with a 7.62 mm Browning M1919A4E1 machine gun coaxial with the main gun with 5000 rounds of ammunition, as well as a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun Browning M2HB with 2175 rounds. The light tank was also equipped with 8 smoke grenade installations. The crew of the car consisted of 4 people.

The M41, produced until the end of the 50s, was produced in the amount of 3,729 units (according to other sources - 5,500). The main modifications of the M41 Walker Bulldog were: pre-production prototype T41; M41A1 (1953); M41A2 (1956); M41A3 (1958); M41DK1 - a machine from the 80s for ground forces Denmark; M41D – for armed forces Taiwan. Based on the M41 Walker Bulldog, the M42 Duster self-propelled gun, M44 self-propelled gun, M52 self-propelled gun and M75 armored personnel carrier were produced.

Having reached the Korean Peninsula before the end of hostilities, the M41 Walker Bulldog replaced the M24 light tank in units. However, the M41 did not stay long in combat units: its significant dimensions and heavy weight were not allowed to use the car as reconnaissance tank. For these same reasons, transporting the M41 from one combat area to another was comparable to transporting a medium tank.

Based on the principle “God, it’s no good for me,” the “light” M41s removed from service with the US Army began to be transferred and sold to the armed forces of other countries: Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Great Britain, Northern (as trophies) and South Vietnam, Guatemala, Greece, etc.

However, despite its unsuitability (according to the American military), the M41 Walker Bulldog had the opportunity to take part in numerous wars in various hot spots of the world.

By equipping the 5206 mercenary brigade that landed on Playa Giron to overthrow the communist government of Cuba in 1961 with M41 vehicles, the United States provided a service to the USSR. The landing party's losses amounted to five tanks in the battle and the same number during the retreat. Subsequently, the Cubans transported one of the cars to the Soviet Union. During the next conflict, between Somalia and Ethiopia in 1964, the Ethiopian M41 Walker Bulldog, having met Somali T-54/55 tanks in battle, could not give the latter a worthy rebuff. In the battles for locality Jijiga, the Somalis destroyed about 9 M41s.

In 1965, American light tanks were also supplied to the South Vietnamese regime, which used them in battles with the Viet Cong. Later, M41s were widely used during Vietnam War, participating, for example, in the 1971 offensive operation "Lam son 719", where they managed to destroy a number of North Vietnamese armored vehicles. The offensive failed and a number of M41s were abandoned during the subsequent retreat. These vehicles entered service with the troops Northern Vietnam. But overall, these light tanks did not play a significant role during the conflict. For example, in one of the 1972 battles for the village of Tan Chanh, a North Vietnamese T-54 entered into battle with five M41s and destroyed them all.

Walker Bulldog also took part in the civil conflict in Lebanon in the 80s. last century. However, despite all the failures in local conflicts, a number of M41 Walker Bulldogs were in service with individual countries back in the early 2000s.

M41 Walker BulldogAmerican tank, developed in the late 40s. Total released more than three thousands of vehicles of this type, which were in service with the US Army and were exported. However, the tank was considered not the most successful, and already in the 60s it was removed from service.

Presented in the game as a light tank VIII level . Researched for 111,700 experience, the purchase price is 2,400,000 credits.

Security

Considering that the vehicle belongs to the class of light tanks, you should not rely on armor; in fact, there is none: 25 mm each on the sides of the hull and turret. The safety factor is 1000 units.

Armament

The gun stands out only in that the main ammunition is a sub-caliber projectile with a fairly high speed flight. She is nothing else remarkable. The accuracy and speed of aiming are quite normal, at least for a light tank. Average damage is 170 units, and armor penetration is 175 mm with regular ammunition and 210 premium cumulative projectile. Considering that the tank will reach levels nine and ten, premium shells will have to be used quite often, otherwise it is simply impossible to penetrate anyone.

Mobility

But with the mobility of the “Bulldog” there are no problems. It accelerates to 68 km/h, and does it very quickly, because its specific power is 34 hp/t. It itself is very maneuverable and easy to control.

Equipment and crew

Installed on the tank coated optics, stereo tube and camouflage net. This option will provide good review both static and moving vehicles and invisibility. However, instead of the network, you can install enhanced aiming drives if you prefer active play and shootouts with enemies. But the review should not be touched in any case.

The first skill a commander must have is "Sixth Sense", and the rest of the crew "Disguise". Secondly, it is advisable to study the “Combat Brotherhood”, this will slightly improve all the characteristics, and, most importantly, will add an overview. The player chooses the third skill at his own discretion.

Game tactics

Previously, the Bulldog was at the seventh level, had an excellent cannon with a ten-shell drum, and was one of the most unpleasant opponents. For shooting one drum he could destroy any opponent of your level and most opponents are higher level. But those days are gone, after the rebalancing of light tanks and the Bulldog nerfs moved to the eighth level and lost the drum cannon. This radically affected his gameplay, and not in the best way.

Now this tank is not capable of sudden attacks with quick execution of the enemy. Yes, it has the highest damage per minute at the level, but it still needs to be implemented, and to do this with such modest armor penetration and one-time damage not so easy. The main targets are enemy light and medium tanks; there is absolutely no point in exchanging fire with heavy tanks. In battles with ninth and especially tenth levels, the lion's share of experience comes from the damage that allies inflict on detected enemies. It is worth remembering that this machine the worst camouflage indicator among light tanks of the eighth level, this requires increased caution.

The Bulldog remains, overall, not the worst tank, but it is boring to play. Weak weapons and lack strengths make him rather expressionless and uninteresting.
