Wedding photography: places for photo sessions and photo processing problems

A photo session is a traditional element of a wedding celebration. Some of the filming takes place indoors during the wedding ceremony and in the restaurant during the wedding feast. But the most beautiful photos are taken on the street. The wedding procession always visits several picturesque places where you can take beautiful pictures of the bride, groom and guests. It’s not difficult to find beautiful places for a photo shoot in Moscow. The most important thing is to competently draw up a program for visiting them, so as not to waste minutes of the happiest day of your life standing in a traffic jam.

In Moscow there are traditional places for wedding photo sessions - Red Square, the Moscow River embankment, the bridge in front of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

These are universal points that are suitable for filming at any time of the year.

However, photographs with views of the Kremlin towers and cathedrals seem too official. It is better to dilute them with more lively and spontaneous photographs taken in ancient romantic parks or beautiful and original interiors.

In the center of Moscow and on the outskirts there are many picturesque parks and ancient estates - these are very beautiful places for a wedding photo shoot. In the north of Moscow there is the largest Botanical Garden in Europe. Adjacent to the Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a garden with a symbolic name for newlyweds - the Garden of the Future. On the territory of this green zone there are several picturesque ponds, as well as the Yauza River, through which several bridges are thrown. You can hang a lock on bridges, symbolizing the strength and inviolability of the marriage union.

Another beautiful park, ideal for wedding photo shoots, is Tsaritsyno. A light and music fountain, ponds, bridges, marvelous alleys and flower beds, a palace complex and other architectural masterpieces - everything is here. Tsaritsino has only one drawback: in the summer, especially on weekends, there are too many people here. To prevent random passers-by from ruining your beautiful shots, you should come here either on weekdays or during the cold season from autumn to spring.

In the east of Moscow, one of the best places for wedding photo sessions is the Kuskovsky Forest Park. The Kuskovo estate has existed since the 16th century: it belonged to the old noble family of the Sheremetyevs. The park has preserved many historical pavilions, including the famous Dutch House, the Italian House near the pond of the same name and others. The local palace, built at the end of the 18th century, also looks very colorful and interesting.

Those who are interested in real Russian antiquity are better off going to Kolomenskoye, located in the southeast of the capital. Magnificent architectural monuments from the time of Ivan the Terrible and picturesque river landscapes make this one of the most beautiful places in Moscow for photo sessions. It is believed that the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Kolomenskoye was built as a prayer church so that God would grant the royal couple an heir. And the heir was indeed soon born. So believing newlyweds should visit the temple, light candles and pray that the family will be strong and that future children will be strong and healthy.

One of the most picturesque places located near the center of Moscow is Poklonnaya Gora. Sparrow Hills are located nearby, so you can combine a visit to these two most beautiful places in Moscow for a wedding photo shoot. From Vorobyovy Gory it is about 10 kilometers to Kolomenskoye, so these three points on the map can be connected by one wedding route. Vorobyovy Gory is especially beautiful at night: a skilled photographer will be able to take an excellent night portrait with the lights of Moscow. Candles, lanterns and other accessories for a photo shoot will help add romance.

Wedding photo shoot on the territory of the palaces

Beautiful places for a wedding photo shoot in winter are, first of all, the premises of ancient palaces and estates. Pictures in snow-covered parks are also very beautiful, but if the weather is unlucky and there is only slush and dirt outside instead of romantic snowdrifts, the main photo session will have to be carried out indoors. The luxurious interiors of ancient palaces are perfect. However, taking beautiful pictures indoors is a much more difficult task, so you need to look at the work of the photographer you are going to invite in advance and check whether he has the equipment necessary for interior photography.

Moscow has a number of beautiful palaces that are ready to provide their luxurious halls for weddings and photo sessions. One of them is the Petrovsky Travel Palace, located on Leningradsky Prospekt. This magnificent mansion was built in the 18th century. Despite the name, Empress Catherine II ordered the construction of the travel palace. The reconstruction of the monument, made in a neo-Gothic style, rare for Russia, was completed in 2009. Starting with Paul I, all the Romanovs stopped here on their way from St. Petersburg to Moscow, where the royal wedding took place.

Another wonderful place for a wedding photo shoot at any time of the year is the Yusupov Palace, located in the very heart of Moscow. This palace is unique for its interiors: most Moscow palaces have decorations in the Baroque or Classicist style. They are all luxurious and beautiful, but, by and large, they are similar to one another. But the Volkov Chambers, as the Yusupov Palace in Moscow is also called, have preserved the interiors of the pre-Petrine era. This is luxury in the old Russian style. An appropriate continuation of a photo shoot in such a palace would be a walk in a sleigh or carriage drawn by three horses.

Photo shoots and wedding ceremonies are also held in the palace of the already familiar Tsaritsynsky Park. Interestingly, the palace has a greenhouse, so the newlyweds can add some greenery and bright tropical colors to the photo if the wedding is held in late autumn, when the leaves have already fallen, or in winter.

The magnificent Ostankino noble estate also offers visitors professional photo sessions. It costs very little, but you must sign an agreement with the museum administration in advance. The interiors of the palace are made in a classical style; the Blue Hall is one of the most beautiful. The grand staircase also makes for great photos. The park surrounding the estate with lakes and an ancient church is also perfect for an outdoor photo shoot.

Numerous capital parks are a wonderful opportunity to take interesting pictures in natural and beautiful surroundings without leaving the city limits. This wedding route for a photo shoot is popular both in the spring-summer season with green foliage, as if permeated with the warmth of the sun in every frame, and in autumn time, coloring the alleys with indescribable crimson and gold. While the newlyweds are busy taking photos, guests will enjoy taking a walk or even going on an exciting excursion.

On the territory of each active estate there is a well-kept park, which is often also a monument of landscape gardening art. Unique landscapes designed the best architects past centuries or created by nature itself and only ennobled by man, will not leave anyone indifferent.

Wedding photo shoot by the water

In the warmer months, water - a symbol of purity and a new beginning - can be an excellent backdrop for photos of a couple in love. Moscow has many artificial and natural reservoirs, rivers and canals, a stop near which can easily be included in your wedding itinerary. The surface of the water, playing in the sun's rays, will add new dimensions of brilliance and color to the photo.

Photos on the shore of a lake or city pond, on an openwork bridge spanning a stream, in a boat for two - such photos in the spirit of innocent beauty will become the best part of any wedding album. To visit, choose a place with a convenient and safe approach to the water - the easiest way to find one is in a recreation park or public garden.

Wedding walk in antique style

When starting something new, it is important to remember the origins - this is the only way to achieve success. Therefore, a wedding walk through the streets and memorable places of the ancient city will help you tune in to building a family and feel a connection with the generations of your ancestors.

The advantage of filming indoors is the expanded possibilities for working with light and other professional equipment, and the absence of interference from wind or precipitation. Thanks to careful preparation, photographs in the apartments always turn out professional and detailed.

We were lucky! Moscow is big, diverse and beautiful. Where to take photos? The choice of places is huge! But still, let's figure it out. During the wedding walk, the newlyweds have one to four hours for staged photography (a good reportage often also turns out to be professional direction). At the same time, we must take into account main problem cities - Traffic jams, and just time spent moving around. Therefore, it is very important to plan your route wisely and select key points of your visit. In this post I will try to help as much as possible in deciding on places for photography.
