The main Persian from mafia 3. Mafia III is still the same "Mafia". My stupid virtual friend

Mafia 3 game characters with names. Lincoln Clay is the central character. Strong, durable, shoots well. He fought in Vietnam, where he received a baptism of fire. He fights with mafia clans to avenge the murder of his friends. And who else is in the third part?

Mafia 3 game characters

Vito Scaletta- previously appeared in Mafia II. Now he is no longer young, but the grip remains the same. Hot If anyone can make him listen to reason, it's Lincoln Clay.

Thomas Burke- His group will not survive without Clay and his team. In turn, Lincoln would have had a hard time if Burke had not supported him with his skills and connections.

Cassandra- As part of Clay's syndicate, he fights the Italian mafia. On order, he will get any information, and any kind of weapon, up to artillery. Wields voodoo.

Sal Marcano- boss of all bosses. That's what Lincoln is looking for in the first place.

Marcano family- two brothers and the son of the chief mafia. Some of their property will be claimed by Clay.

Tommy- Accomplice of Sal Marcano.

Tony Deratio- Works for Marcano. Cruel and very dangerous.

Samuel Robinson- his death prompted Lincoln to unleash a war with the Marcano family. Appears only at the very beginning of the game.

Reverend James- raised the main character when he grew up in an orphanage.

The main character is a black guy Lincoln Clay. He grew up in an orphanage, so he appreciates and understands the word "Family". His main motto is "Family is not those with whom you grew up. These are those for whom you are ready to give your life." The hero is sent to war, where he survives by making friends.

Soon, Lincoln returns from the war and is gladly accepted into his gang, where there are the same as him - blacks. Why did they huddle in one flock? After all, skin color means nothing. In fact, the action takes place in 1968, where the bad attitude of white people towards blacks reigns.

Crime boss Sal Marcano teams up with a black leader for a very lucrative bank heist. And so, the son of the chief mafia and Lincoln go to the bank. Having robbed it and killed a bunch of people, they somehow escape. Soon everyone comes to his boss and gives the loot, but is it all that simple? No. Sal Marcano - A man who always crushes everything under himself and loves to be the boss in everything, so he decides to kill this gang so that later they don’t share territory with them and simply so that they don’t interfere.

Marcano's people and the boss himself come to the bar, which are led by their "allies". Naturally, after a short time of drinking, all the blacks are dead, except ... Except for the main character, of course! Lincoln is pulled out by a local priest and decides to patch him up. As Clay woke up, he immediately conducts a dialogue with the priest and decides to destroy the entire criminal syndicate of Sal in order to destroy the efforts of his whole life, and then Sal himself.

Next, the black man finds his allies. There are only three of them: Vito Scaletta, who is the main character of the second part of the Mafia game series, Burke and Cassandra. Lincoln needs them to destroy Sal Marcano's life. They all have reasons for this.

Vito had been working for a criminal boss for a long time, but they had a conflict and Sal simply could not stand it, so he sent a killer to Scaletta, but Lincoln managed to warn Vito and the killer himself was in a trap. As a result, Vito himself realizes that his district, which he ruled, is no longer his and joins Lincoln.

Burke wants revenge. He is Irish by nationality. Sal did not tolerate Thomas Burke's frivolous lifestyle, and he let him down. Marcano kills an Irishman's son and sends Burke to a man named "The Butcher" who beats ex man Marcano and makes an invalid on his feet for life. And the main condition for Burke's cooperation: When they find the Butcher, Thomas himself will deal with him.

The dark-skinned girl Cassandra wants revenge and wants her place in this world, so she sees her chance in the main character and will join.

Why did I like the third part even more than the sequel.

To begin with, it is worth defining my position from the point of view of the experience of communication with the Mafia series. I am 27 years old and have been playing games for as long as I can remember. For the first time I saw the first part in 2002 on the cover of a then popular magazine, a little later a pirated disc was bought - an incredible delight and love forever. I played the second part many years later in a less romantic time - I bought it on Steam, again I was delighted. But with repeated passages, a feeling appeared, as if something was not right here.

And so the third coming took place. To be honest, I did not fully believe that I would ever see the Mafia screensaver on the monitor again. But it happened and I'm damn happy.

My Artifacts - Mafia & Mafia II

New Bordeaux, 1968

The protagonist Lincoln Clay has just returned from Vietnam. Lincoln is a Negro, and in 1968 being a Negro in the South of the USA is not the best decision. Trying to survive and somehow earn some money, Lincoln goes to rob a bank, but the "friends" give up right after the division of the booty ... all the relatives are dead, and Lincoln lies on a bed in the church, having miraculously survived after being shot in the head (apparently, the brain for bandits is not the best important part of the body). But soon the hunters will become victims.

Sometimes at night, I swear, footsteps in soldier's boots can be heard upstairs. I understand that it's just an old house fasten and groan with the floorboards ... But every time I think - what if it was Lincoln Clay who came to my soul?

Jonathan Maguire

FBI agent

Glue. Lincoln Clay.

The history of Mafia 3 is simple and banal - main character avenges his family, killing mafiosi one by one, getting to the very top. But the developers managed to tell her epic - powerful cutscenes with downhole music and bloody murders are in the first place here. The scriptwriters did something different from the first and second parts, showing the "Mafia" not from the side of expensive costumes, beautiful women and shiny cars, and from the side ordinary people that drown in blood. Plus, it's interesting to feel and feel the theme of racism - to find out how it was when you can't go to a cafe or a laundry. And then slaughter a couple of local Confederates who still dream of returning slavery.

Clearly understood.

Lincoln's company will be made up of several very high-quality characters, such as the holy father with a cigarette in his hands or the cheerful CIA officer Donovan. And the main mafia boss Sal Marcano literally infuriates with his every appearance in the frame and I want to put a couple of bullets into the bastard. It will be all the more pleasant to watch how we take away from him everything that is dear to him. Piece by piece, district by district, person by person, Clay will take everything from the old man. And then he will come for his life.

I am sure that if the game had only a story company, without an open world and attempts to stretch the game with monotonous tasks, it would have been accepted much better. For journalists, the shorter the game, the better, less work, and school experts would download from a torrent and, having run for 10 hours, would be quite satisfied.

In principle, if you do not buy, then the game justifies its money.

5-A class

Gopnik vs Punisher

Would you say that the Mafia III campaign worse than history Vito? In Mafia II, everything brought pleasure: beautiful cars, music, the atmosphere of the city, physics, interesting missions and locations, the change of seasons, even the merry Joe. Everything was perfect, except for the plot and the main character. I replayed the game last year and just did not understand - why should I play a gopnik who will do anything for an extra dollar? Just remember the hero's reaction to his sister's call, when she says that she no longer wants to see him - a stone face! Absolute indifference. His lines constantly made me grind my teeth, Vito's only motivation is money, cars and heifers.

Vito himself. How old he is. Apparently, money did not bring happiness.

In the same GTA series, the gangsters have always been interesting, individual (apart from the nameless kid from GTA 3), crazy like Trevor after all, but Vito is like the "smooth kid" from the next yard. Probably, only such guys can be interested in this exciting story "how the kid went to success." Therefore, Lincoln, even if he is a banal avenger-punisher, is still much more suitable for the role of the protagonist in the game.

If desired, in Mafia III, you can realize a past dream and kill Vito. Another game finally answers the question that has worried millions of gamers for years - what happened to Joe? Turns out he was in on the deal. Although the developers do not give us any explanation of the events, it is clear that Joe's cameo does not make sense and is inserted into the game solely for the sake of hype.

City of lost skies

New town, new car, new Mafia.

What else is good in Mafia III, except for the company? For example, the beautifully made city and the atmosphere of 1968 are the main pluses of the game for me. Magnificent New Bordeaux consists of completely different neighborhoods in spirit: the black ghetto, the alligator swamps, the rich white areas, the French Quarter. And again, the same feeling as in distant childhood, when you seem to be transported into the past and enjoy the adventure. And after all, there are not so many such GTA-like games in different historical eras: GTA, Godfather, Mafia, The Saboteur and... that's it? It feels like the creation of a city, a car and an atmosphere is no longer considered something important among gamers, but is taken for granted.

And cars, oh my God, what kind of cars are here. It's just incredible. Of course, I liked the cars in the first or second mafia, but here ... I fell in love with the 1968th. Each car is a masterpiece, each contour is magnificent. A huge number of muscle cars, long hulls and powerful motors. All this charm is incredibly pleasant to drive, groom and cherish. For my taste, these cars were the best in the history of mankind.

Is it possible to resist such a crumb?

Here we will add chic music, which will become best friend gamer. Box Tops, Jefferson Airplane, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Creedence, Animals with their immortal "House of the Rising Sun". Every song is a hit, every muscle car ride through the old city to a new song is priceless. Here it is! That's what we experienced in the first part and in the second - adventure, travel, music, cars, atmosphere. All this is in Mafia III.

Try it, approach the game with the pure joy of a child who has received a favorite toy - pleasure is here and now, waiting for you around the next bend in New Bordeaux in 1968.

Eh, times! Yes, again, and many more times.

Not gonna get us!

The main problem of the third Mafia, which many stick out to the fore, is the monotony of missions. Indeed, in addition to interesting story missions we'll have to reclaim territory from the mafia. District after district, business after business. The main gameplay is pretty monotonous - we drive into the area, find out who is driving what, take out a couple of thugs, destroy the goods, and so on. Heels, makeup and this area is ours.

On the one hand, this is weak and does not compare in any way with, say, the 69 missions of the GTA V plot (although few games can even compare with GTA V). But on the other hand, the developers managed to make the action interesting. The gameplay turned out to be very successful - stealth in the corners, cutting out enemies one by one is very easy and pleasant, bold and bloody. And then you jump out and have a hell of a shootout. Execution animations are generally something divine and bloody. Killing in close combat is pure pleasure, reminiscent of the days of the games "The Punisher" and "Dead to Rights".

The gameplay is fire.

A typical day in Mafia 3 looks something like this:

I got into a cool car, turned on the radio, my favorite "give me a ticket for an airplane" played;

I drove to the point, drifting and squeezing through the traffic;

He burst in, stabbed and shot everyone;

Repeat.

Yes, the enemies are stupid. Yes, you can see through the walls. Yes, the most protected base can be easily laid in stealth, but I like it. In the mafia, you can enjoy the process. Permissiveness intoxicates, rigidity and violence absorbs the player. In the game, you are the real god Lincoln Clay and it is up to you to decide who will live and who will go to rot in the swamp to be eaten by alligators.

The guys in white thought they were better than the others. We'll figure out.

Remember the first and second Mafia. The first was Free Ride Extreme after the story, the second was store robberies and terrible DLC with a bald guy and Joe, filled with standard GTA-like tasks. Even then, the developers tried to "stretch" the game, to keep the player, so that he would have at least something to do after a short story campaign. The second Mafia always ends abruptly for me. You play, you catch a fan, you buy suits, you fill the garage with cars, and then bang - the final credits. Hey, where is this all to go now?

Mafia III decided to stretch the game itself, based on resources and budget, and Hangar 13 turned out to be a pretty decent price-performance ratio. For example, I bought a game on a PC and got 50-60 hours of a great adventure for 2k rubles. Would I take a game for 2k that lasts 10 hours? No, I wouldn't.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. The Gamebizclub team is on the air, and we begin to talk about gangsters from New Bordeaux, their stories and relationships. They cannot be called heroes because of their actions and character - robberies, robbery, shootouts with competitors characterize negative qualities. All these Marcano, Clemento, Galante and other mafiosi families act as criminals that no one can handle. And Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3 plays leading role and acts as an avenger with a difficult fate, who will turn the shadowy life of New Bordeaux and crush everyone under him. That is what we are going to talk about today.

From this article you will learn:

Childhood and youth of the hero

Lincoln was born in 1945 in New Bordeaux. Two years later, his mother gave him to the orphanage of St. Michel and disappeared from the life of a black boy. Childhood in the orphanage went well - there he studied, walked and had fun until the orphanage was closed.

From that moment on, Clay's fate rolled downhill: theft, robbery and escapes from the police, in the end, led him to the ranks of the Black Mafia, one of the largest groups of blacks in New Bordeaux.

From the age of thirteen, Clay continued his wild life in the ranks of the Black Mafia, the head of the group, Sam Robinson, and other members of the gang became like family to him. This continued until he decided to quit the mafia and went to serve in the army. In 1966 he was sent to Vietnam and served in the Special Forces for three years.

This time does not pass without a trace: Mr. Clay, having lost friends and colleagues in battles, hardens. For the military prowess shown and for the “delicate” government assignments he performed with CIA agent John Donovan, Lincoln is awarded and sent home.

Real facts

The prototype of the protagonist was Samuel Christian, the leader and reorganizer of the real-life Black Mafia group. The appearance of the protagonist was presented by actor Alex Hernandez, and voiced by the former UFC fighter Kyle Kingsbury.

According to the FBI, Clay is 195 cm tall, weighs 95 kg, and is of average build. The badge of a soldier indicates that he has the first blood type, Rh factor is negative. Lincoln is equally proficient with both hands and is an accurate shooter with pistols and rifles.

The war goes on

The plot of Mafia 3 begins with Lincoln's return to New Bordeaux. The professional military is going to continue civil life, but before that comes to Sam, the head of his former group.

During the conversation, Sam asks a proven fighter to help solve the problem with the Italian mafia, to which he owes money. Mr. Clay remembers the past, decides to help "in last time and goes to meet the gangsters of the Marcano family.

And then an unexpected plot twist awaits us - at the meeting, instead of talking, the Italians take out their guns and shoot the members of the Black Mafia, and Lincoln is shot in the head. And here the story could have ended, but Clay survives, and he decides to take revenge on those who killed his friends.

According to the editors, Clay himself is to blame - a military man who served three years in Vietnam could have insured himself in the event of an armed conflict. Such actions betray his unprofessionalism, which is strange and illogical.

Of the relatives, only Father James, the rector of the orphanage, remains. He will play a big role in the ending of the story.

gangster fate

After leaving the hospital, Lincoln begins to take revenge on the Marcano family, uses his connections and attracts other mafiosi to his side, such as, for example,. Together with allies, the hero will have to eliminate one by one the henchmen of Sal Marcano, politicians and bosses supporting him.

The hero will take part in many skirmishes, will interrogate the captured district boss in a car on high speed, organizes a surprise attack on the restaurant and eventually destroys his main enemy.

At the end of the story, Lincoln will tell Father James and John Donovan that he is going to take the late Sale's place in the criminal hierarchy. The CIA officer supports this decision, believing that Clay is the best person to do it. On the other hand, James refers to unfulfilled dream work honestly and tie up with the underworld. Further fate hero depends on the following choices:

  1. Lincoln will listen to Father James and leave for California. The FBI will search for him for several years, but to no avail. Eyewitnesses claim that they saw the former mafia in different parts of the world. The power in the city is given to that of the lieutenants, to whom the most business and territories are given during the game.
  2. Lincoln will listen to John and will rule with the lieutenants. Clay notes their contribution to the downfall of the Marcano empire and suggests they do business together. new empire expands from Florida to North Carolina, engulfing the entire south of the United States. Receiving huge profits, the new don does not lose his human face and donates huge sums to charity and the development of the city.
  3. Lincoln will not listen to anyone, get rid of the lieutenants and begin to rule the underworld alone. And his end will be sad - Father James will mine Clay's car and blow it up when the main "hero" gets behind the wheel. And he will do the right thing, because, having got rid of his comrades-in-arms, Clay showed that he is no better than Marcano.

Summing up

The fate of the protagonist can go in different directions. On the one hand, having gone through the Vietnam War and plunged headlong into the shadowy life of New Bordeaux, Lincoln should have rested. On the other hand, the lifestyle of the head of the criminal world is very difficult to change, so it would be logical to continue what we started. In any case, Lincoln's fate is tragic - he went through too much to live the life of a simple citizen of his country.

The stories of the heroes of Mafia 3 are worked out in detail, because there is a connection with the previous part, and a hint of the next release. It is not clear where Joe Barbaro disappeared from the second part of the Mafia, perhaps he will appear in additions or in a few years.

That's all we have for today. Follow the news of our blog and stay up to date, and if you liked the article, then share the link to it with your friends in in social networks. See you soon. Bye bye.

Sixties. Time for rock and roll and muscle cars. The receivers are The Animals, The Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Roaring monsters with a force of four hundred “horses” drive around the roads. A second wave of feminist protests is taking place across America, and racism in the country now and then becomes the cause of crime and riots. At the same time fictional american city New Bordeaux, where the events take place, is deprived in turn of all their caporegime and their henchmen.

It's Lincoln Clay administering justice.

mafia africano

When Lincoln returned from Vietnam, he hardly suspected that everything would turn out this way. The first day in civilian life was marked by a party organized in his honor by friends and family. It would seem that life began again for him in a world free from the horrors of war. However, this world has its own horrors...

It soon turns out that Lincoln's adoptive father is doing business with the local mafia. The hero himself and his friends are also not averse to making a profitable adventure and simply cannot refuse a tempting offer to rob a federal repository. They did not refuse, but Sal Marcano twisted them around his finger and took the money for himself, and his people killed all of Lincoln's relatives.

Clay also got it, but he was “lucky”. He was pulled out of the fire, and then the priest Father James, who raised Lincoln in an orphanage, came out. Having regained consciousness, the hero vows to get even with not only Sal Marcano, but with the entire city mafia.

Mafia Families' Insidiousness central theme"Mafia" from the very first part. Remember how easily Don Salieri went against Tom and Polly when he found out about their "hack". And how Vito Scaletta was used by every capo he worked for. The heroes and their partners sooner or later became objectionable to someone "from above" because of some trifle that contradicted the omerta, and all the dogs were let loose on them.

The developers of Mafia 3 decided to reveal this topic at the very beginning of the game. They immediately showed the mafia as a cruel organization, and its don - the last cattle, going over the heads for the sake of wealth and power.

But is Lincoln himself better as a person? It would seem that he is guided by a good goal: to avenge his family and save the city from the "cancerous tumor". However, his method is the method of a typical mafioso fighting competitors: to destroy and seize someone else's business. Over time, Lincoln himself becomes the head of a large criminal group and stands on a par with his enemies. The hero does not deny this, but claims that he is better than anyone else.

The game is very easy to navigate - in the form of just such virtual road signs.

The locks here are broken differently than in the second part - with a mount.

Such a hero is not suitable for the same mafia, and not every player will accept it. In the past parts, we were also “thrown”, and we had to take revenge on the clan for which we once worked. But before the story had time to acquaint with the traditions of the family and gave a taste of a little specific romance.

IN new game no mafia spirit at all. And it's not even the lack of felt hats or a suit - Vito also wore a leather jacket for half the game. The thing is, Lincoln is a common criminal. It doesn't cost him anything to break into someone's house to snatch the next issue. Playboy magazine. As well as killing witnesses to their crimes, whether it's a grandmother hobbled to the machine gun to report the theft, or a guy in a hurry to call the police to disperse the clashing scumbags. Clay's character and habits will not change, even when he gathers accomplices and builds an impressive criminal empire.

Mafia 3 PC Issues

The release of the PC version of Mafia 3 caused a scandal. The game was released unfinished both technically and in terms of gameplay. What could be seen on the screen, at best, was drawn to 2007. And to hell with the frame rate limit - the problem is different. At maximum settings, the game simply stretches the picture to 1080p. The technique, of course, is not new, but it is terribly dirty and ugly: the image turns out to be blurry, loses color and contrast. Neither pure deep black nor white color you won't see them in this arrangement. All other colors, of course, also fade.

The lighting was in a fever: as soon as the sun disappeared behind the clouds, the pre-storm darkness thickened, the sky was covered with smog. Soon, the sun again appeared from behind the clouds and began to hit in the eyes so that without sunglasses it was painful to look at the monitor. Shadows sometimes gave out a ladder of pixels of such a size that Minecraft envy. The splashes of mud flying from under the wheels of cars resembled children's cubes in size and shape.

Not everything was fine with the reflections either - the car bodies shone like cheap plastic, the side mirrors looked at the player with unpolished pieces of iron. With mirrors in the bathrooms, it’s all hell - either they do not reflect the hero at all, or they reflect only certain parts of him, or they show a slide show.

The problem came to light and with management. On the one hand, it contained a bunch of not entirely clear elements, such as shifting a rifle from shoulder to shoulder, on the other hand, it actively used the right side of the keyboard, while ignoring the F row. When I connected the controller, I found that I couldn’t play with it. In the control layout, only a couple of buttons are signed for the gamepad, and this is not a translation glitch - the active tips in the game were also empty, the enumeration of the buttons did not work. At the same time, in the reviews on Steam, I read that the controllers worked for other players.

Many game elements raised questions. Enemies to this day suffer from a developmental delay: they do not hear Clay's steps, and they may not notice the figure of a hefty kid, even coming close to him. The physics of transport destruction is primitive. Light dents, broken headlights and glass, a torn hood cover, wobbly bumpers, burst tires - that's all I managed to exhaust the car with.

As a result, it seems that the developers are trying to convey the complexity of the life of a black man in America in the 1960s not through history, but through violence against the player. At the start in the PC version, almost everything was bad or inconvenient, every little thing prevented you from enjoying the game. The next day, the authors released a 1.2 GB patch, and he corrected the situation. The 30 FPS lock was removed, the lights stopped changing like in a disco, and the controls were sorted out. The game has become more colorful and seems to crash less often. Of course, not everything was fixed, but a start has been made. Maybe in a couple more "patches" we will get modern game which can be enjoyed freely.

street justice

But before that, you have to go through hours of dusty, tedious and rather monotonous work.

Sal Marcano divided power in New Bordeaux between his henchmen. He can't be reached until you take out his lieutenants and capos. To reach any of them, Lincoln needs to run around informants who know how to squeeze this or that reptile. Some newspaperman will complain to him that gangsters are preventing the publication from developing, and a boxer will tell that he cannot win the fight because of one bastard and a bunch of bandits.

In another place there are problems with drugs, in another - with prostitution. And before you manage to slam even the smallest henchman, you will have to stir up the entire anthill: cause a fair amount of damage to the business and thin out the gang of henchmen thugs.

Areas are switched, arms dealers are replaced by drug lords, but the tasks remain the same and most often come down to killing another villain, stealing money, attacking an institution and destroying valuable goods.

Yes, studio Hangar 13 created a city where there seems to be something to do, where there is no peace and no time to rest. The only problem is that those classes that are in another Assassin's Creed would be side, here they are mandatory, otherwise you won’t lure out the next boss.

Although the action usually takes place within the same area, more than once or twice you will be sent across the entire map on the next “important task”.

As a result, after a few hours, it becomes spit on the name of this or that villain. Italian surnames flash through my head - either Botticelli, or Morricone, or Pellegrini - and we, as if on an automatic machine, rush to get our hands dirty with new blood. And so on until Sal Marcano himself is on the way.

For the most part, Lincoln administers justice personally, but he is not alone in his cause. Accomplices help manage the business taken from local gangsters: Cassandra, Vito Scaletta (the same one from the second Mafia) and Thomas Burke. They help in exchange for Lincoln's help. The hero pulled Kassandra and Vito out of the clutches of various groups, and helped Berka to deal with the affairs of the car junkyard.

Their assistance relieves the game of part of the routine. On the walkie talkie we get in certain moment, you can ask Cassandra's assistants to fit a van with weapons and ammunition. Vito's guys for a fee are happy to help in cleaning up the next rat house. Burke's acquaintances, on request, are ready to drive a fast or armored car or bribe the cops.

Our accomplices: Cassandra...

And Thomas Burke.

The distribution of territory between partners is also curious. receiving more land, they expand the range of services: they offer new weapons, improvements for it, modifications for cars and more. But, if the territory is unevenly distributed, some of the disadvantaged will begin to resent, and at some point his patience will run out: the accomplice will stop helping, will start to put spokes in our wheels and send his people to "solve the problem."

Burke is indignant that another piece of territory has passed him by.

The game resembles a system for capturing someone else's business and territories. However, unlike her, Mafia 3 it was a good fighter. Skirmishes with enemies are not devoid of heat and take place at a very fast pace. Covers are used only to take a breath, because the enemies very soon smoke out of an ambush with incendiary mixtures and grenades, or unceremoniously declare to shoot point-blank.

It often happens that Lincoln breaks into an enemy base, shoots down the enemy who met him, finishes off the victim with a juicy and effective knife, then takes out a shotgun and puts a couple more big ones, grabs a bullet in his shoulder, sits down to heal behind cover, simultaneously distributing several headshots in a row, and in at this pace, it clears the entire location.

The feel of the weapon is, shall we say, correct: a pistol feels like a pistol, a revolver feels like a revolver, a rifle feels like a rifle, and a shotgun feels like a shotgun. No more and no less.

Going through many situations quietly is often more effective and faster.

gangster saga

It's interesting to follow the story as it unfolds. Of course, the denouement is immediately obvious, but the way the story is told takes its toll. This is partly a cut from documentary film, Where different people talk about Lincoln Clay.

And everyone draws a character from a new side. Detective Maguire, who has followed his trail all his life, speaks of Lincoln as a monster, a killer who, while clearing the city of scum and bandits, himself turned into their likeness. The stories of Father James reveal Lincoln as a person and clarify the events that happened to him in Vietnam. Finally, CIA agent John Donovan, who brings the hero to most of the gangsters, explains exactly how he and Lincoln did everything.

Narrators: Detective Maguire...

CIA agent John Donovan...

And Father James...

From these stories you conclude that Lincoln Clay - controversial hero. Sometimes it’s simply unpleasant to associate yourself with him, and at this moment Martin Walker from. Perhaps many will find Lincoln just as disgusting. Although the hero, confident in his actions, is in any case better than the indifferent Vito, who only knew how to carry out other people's orders.

It may seem simple Good photo amusement park at night...

Except for one small detail.

As for the secondary characters, they turned out to be bright and memorable, unlike the heroes mafia 2, where it’s hard to remember anyone other than Vito and Joe on the move. The same agent Donovan shows himself to be a cheerful and eccentric guy who can easily be caught cutting his nails. Vito appears as a mature, cold-blooded gangster. The head of the Haitian gang, Cassandra, is very distrustful and disagrees with everyone. Burke is a typical rude Irishman, always drunk and rarely parting with a bottle.

Alas, the storytelling in Mafia 3 contrasts sharply with the game world. IN in general terms New Bordeaux reminds of its prototype (New Orleans), but the city itself is faceless. They only talk about the time of action advertising posters on buildings, neon signs of bars, girls in colorful dresses and bouffant hairstyles, and even cars.

The contemptuous attitude towards blacks is noticeable only in story videos and replicas of enemies. in some GTA game designers would come up with a bunch of scenes where the police beat up a black for no reason, and black bandits arrange shootouts with Italians, or otherwise show the riots that became more frequent after the death of Martin Luther King.

The only place in the game where racial hatred is manifested is the shops. The seller will immediately hint that you are not welcome here, and will try to kick you out. True, nothing can be done against the gun.

It is worth hurting someone else's car in front of the police, and the cops open fire without warning.

But in Mafia 3 absolutely nothing happens. People and cars are moving somewhere, but these are all scenery, designed only to imitate a living city while chasing the next mafioso.

The missions are for the most part not very inventive, although there are some handmade tasks, like chasing a caporegime on a sinking ferry. Everything on the deck is collapsing, it is shaking, the ship is listing, and in these conditions you need to somehow shoot enemies. Such missions, unfortunately, can be counted on the fingers. And if there were a little more of them, and all that routine, which has to be done for a good two dozen hours, was turned into optional side tasks, the game would only get prettier from this.
