Skyrim one-handed or two-handed weapons. The best two-handed weapons in Skyrim - how to get unique axes, two-handed swords, hammers and bows. The most powerful weapon
Some of us like to play with luck - they abandon the trusty shield and take bigger weapons. But there are so many different weapons that even an experienced adventurer will have trouble choosing. With this guide, everything will become much easier, because you will have to use the most powerful two-handed weapons!
Best two-handed gear in Skyrim
In truth, the game definitely has the most best weapons, both and two-handed. Skyrim is a role-playing game, each item has a set of various parameters, characteristics, and improvements. This is especially true for items of equipment - and weapons, because such things can have magical enchantments and can also be improved at the forge.
In addition, a lot depends on what skills the Dovahkiin has developed. With some skill you can even fight with bare hands, and it's great that the game provides such an opportunity.
The best axes, greatswords and warhammers in Skyrim
Two-handed weapons The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is smaller, so it makes sense to combine the different classes of such weapons into one section. Here best axes, two-handed swords and combat weapons in the game: Wuuthrad Axe, Rueful Axe, Bloodskal, Volendrung and Dawnguard Rune Hammer.
How to get the Ax weapon of Wuuthrad
This thing is perfect for those who dream of settling scores with elves. Wuuthrad inflicts more damage specifically for the “eared” races, and the base indicator is also very high - 25. This is a damn powerful ax!
The path to the Wuuthrad Ax lies through the Companions storyline. It will have to be completed completely, since only based on the results last task, "Glory of the Dead", Dovahkiin is able to grab Wuuthrad with both hands.
How to get the Ax of Sorrow weapon
A Daedric prince named Clavicus Vile describes this weapon as "powerful enough to have a lot of fun." And this is pretty close to the truth - the Ax of Sorrow in its base version deals 22 damage and also burns the stamina of enemies. In addition, it can be improved at the forge if you have the appropriate skill.
The Ax of Sorrow can be obtained as a reward for completing the Daedric quest “A Daedra's Best Friend”. But before you move on to it, you must reach at least level 10. After Dovahkiin is enough strong, you need to find a character named Lod near the entrance to Falkreath. There will be many more funny and not so adventures.
How to get the Bloodskal weapon
Appeared in the game after the release of the Dragonborn add-on. This is a hefty two-handed sword that causes a magical explosion when hit hard. Even without taking into account the impressive physical damage, Blaskal is valued for the fact that the burst of energy deals 30 damage!
To become the owner of Blaskal, you need to start the storyline of the Dragonborn expansion, and then, having arrived on Solstheim, go to the Raven Rock Mine and take the side quest “The Final Descent” from a character named Krestius Carellius (Crescius Caerellius). The blade will lie near the remains of Gratian in the dungeon.
How to get Volendrung weapon
A war hammer of impressive size can seriously frighten an impressionable hero with its demonic relief. But his damage is much worse - 47! When struck, Volendrung not only easily breaks the strongest bones, but also increases stamina, which is very convenient for Dovahkiin, because to make a good swing with such a hammer, one’s own strength will clearly not be enough.
Obtaining Volendrung is associated with the quest “The Cursed Tribe”, which begins in the orc fortress Largashbur. Arriving there, the hero must help the local orcs cope with a bunch of problems and at the same time show himself in a favorable light in front of the Daedric prince Malacat.
How to get the Dawnguard Rune Hammer weapon
Not the best in its class (base damage is 22), but definitely very useful in some situations. It's all about the enchantment: it allows you to place fire traps on different surfaces. This way you can make short work of many opponents who prefer to fight up close.
As with other Dawnguard rune weapons, you must complete the dynamic quest “The Lost Relic.” The task is quite troublesome, although it is randomly generated: you need to clear dungeons filled to capacity with all sorts of evil spirits and undead.
If you're lucky, the Rune Hammer of the Dawnguard will become Dovahkiin's reward. For sure. More likely. Maybe. May be. Some day. Sooner or later... Well, if you buy it, of course.
The best unique bows in Skyrim
A bow will be useful for almost every hero, but it is especially often used by those who, for certain reasons, do not want to “get their hands dirty” by waving all sorts of sharp things, like some savage or barbarian. There are plenty of bows in the game, but only 3 of them will serve Dovahkiin best: The Nightingale Bow, Glass Bow of the Stag Prince and Gauldur Blackbow.
How to get the Nightingale Bow weapon
This weapon belongs to Karliah, a member of the thieves' guild and the protagonist's temporary companion during some quests. The Nightingale Bow enchant allows you to freeze and shock targets, which is often useful in various situations. This is also another weapon that depends on the character's level. You shouldn't take it too early, it's better to wait. For example, up to level 46. It is then that the Nightingale Bow will become as powerful as possible.
To convince Karliah to give up the bow, you will have to join the Thieves Guild and follow its storyline. This is a rather long path that will only end at the Blindsighted mission. The bow will be given to the character as a reward for completing the quest. By the way, Dovahkiin will also receive an “endless” master key (Skeleton Key), but who is interested in such trifles?
How to get the glass bow of the Deer King
The name is far from the most remarkable thing about this weapon. It blesses the owner with a special effect - increases health and stamina while the bow is equipped. To receive the blessing, you need to kill 20 animals. Not so much, but not so little!
You can get the Glass Bow of the Stag King from Falas Selvayn at the old Ramshacle Trading Post. Oh yes, that's right, this location is on the island of Solstheim, so go sailing after purchasing the DLC.
How to get the Black Bow of Gauldur weapon
Like the Nightingale Bow, this piece of ancient Nordic craftsmanship is a weapon whose power directly depends on the hero's level. It is exhibited at the moment when Dovahkiin first enters the location where, in fact, the bow is located.
Gauldur's black bow deals 36 damage when hitting a target and absorbs magic at the same time. It is convenient if the main character knows a couple of powerful spells.
As with the Black Sword of Gauldur, the bow can be obtained during the quest "Forbidden Legend". In order for this quest to appear in the journal, you must read the book "Lost Legends of Skyrim". You can find it in the most different places, you just need to be careful. Or just search the lifeless body of the “adventurer” in the “Lake Cliff” location.
But the bow has its own dungeon - Geirmund's Hall. The ancient and not entirely alive (and not dead!) Sigdis Gauldurson lives there. The bow is in his hands, you just need to ask nicely.
Introduction
Introduction
I wish you good health, my friend! Today you will learn how to use a two-handed weapon. First off, what is a two-handed weapon? This is a weapon that the hero holds directly in two hands and cannot hold anything other than the two-handed weapon itself. This type of weapon is stronger than one-handed weapons, but much slower. The range of destruction of this weapon is quite large, which one-handed weapons cannot boast of. By pressing RMB, you can block with a two-handed weapon, holding RMB + LMB, you will prepare a flat blow and after 2.5 seconds release your blow (flat). If you're a fan of heavy power but slow-hitting, two-handed weapons are for you!
This type of weapon has 3 types:
- Two-handed sword: The weakest but fastest type of two-handed weapon. Do you like speed? Then this guy is for you!
- Two-Handed Axe: Somewhere between 1 and 3. If you can't decide between a Greatsword or a War Hammer, then don't hesitate to pick up a Two-Handed Axe!
- War Hammer: The strongest but slowest type. Do you like heavy power? The War Hammer is just right for you! Here we can say that this type is from the category of “One shot, one kill, no lick, just skill” ;)

Influential Skills
Two-handed weapons are affected by the following skills: Two-handed weapons, blocking (partially). Also, this type of weapon is influenced by your Tu "mind (Dragon Incarnation, elemental rage)
Battle tactics
Battle tactics
For two-handed weapons, the following tactic is suitable: use the “Dragon Reincarnation” Shout, wait for the cooldown of “Elemental Fury” (REMEMBER: the “Elemental Fury” Shout does not affect ENCHANTED weapons) and use it, and go chop everyone to pieces!
Leveling advice
Leveling advice
To quickly upgrade your skill" Two-handed weapon", you need to use the "Elemental Fury" Shout before the battle! This way you can hit enemies much faster, thereby pumping up a certain skill. When you pump up "Two-Handed Weapon" by 100, you can enchant your weapon.
Combinations
Combinations
- Warrior Skills: Blocking, Heavy Armor, Smithing
- Mage Skills: Enchantment
- Thief Skills: Alchemy, Stealth (alternative), Light Armor (alternative to Heavy)
Sequence of skill leveling
Sequence of skill leveling
To destroy enemies to the right and to the left, the following tactics are suitable:
- First, you need to pump up "Blacksmithing" to 100, study " Dragon armor" and create a dragon two-handed sword/axe/war hammer. Lastly, take "Enchantment". Along the way, upgrade the skills of "Alchemy", "Heavy Armor" and "Blocking".
- Alternative option: Let's go, join the ranks of the Companions in Whiterun, go through their storyline, and get the Wuuthrad axe. Because of this, blacksmithing can’t be upgraded until lvl 30. The rest is everything as in the first option.
- Alternative option 2: Level up Blacksmithing by 100, study Dragon Armor and create a dragon two-handed sword/axe/war hammer. After that, download “Stealth”. The last thing we take is "Enchantment". Along the way, upgrade your Alchemy, Light Armor and Blocking skills. This option is good because the "Dragon Armor" skill will give us the opportunity to create the best, light armor- made of dragon scales!
Teachers of the skill "Two-handed weapons"
- Expert: Torbjorn Shattershield - home of the Shattershield clan
- Master: Vilkas - Jorvaskr
Enchantment
For two-handed weapons, the most suitable enchantments are those that increase the damage of the two-handed weapon itself! But you must also carry soul stones with you, no matter what, but why, I’ll tell you everything in detail now! After the enchantment skill reaches 100, you must level up the “Additional Effect” skill, this will allow you to show your real strength! For the real effect, you need to enchant your two-handed weapon with “Fire Soul Trap” and “Chaotic Damage”. The first enchantment can be found in the final hall of the Iron Mound, on the back of Gatrik's throne, and this enchantment gives the effect that when striking an enemy, he is dealt fire damage and within 5 seconds, upon the death of the victim on whom the effect hangs, the stone is filled shower. The second can only be obtained with the purchase of the Dragonborn DLC, it can be found in Fort Frostmoth, taking the Defender's Club from the body of General Falx Kariya in the final room, this enchantment gives 50% damage to one of the three elements (ice, fire and lightning). If you don't already have money for DLC, there is Alternative option: Replace Chaotic Damage with one of these three enchantments:
- Fire Damage
- Cold Damage
- Electrical Damage
At the end of the game

End of briefing
That's all! Now you know what it is, how and with what to use a two-handed weapon. Thank you for your attention!
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim contains a lot of loot that no player can have the same supply after a couple of minutes of play. Weapons are of course vitally important, but what should you choose?
Now Skyrim is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR, we're revamping our Skyrim guides to make sure new adventurers have everything they need to get the most out of this massive game. In this guide we are talking about weapons.
In truth, there aren't many absolute best weapons in Skyrim, thanks to the fact that some use of enchantments and other mechanics can make almost any weapon viable on any difficulty - even your bare fists! With that said, some of the most famous weapons in the game are unique weapon, which can be found in certain locations or through certain quests. Each unique weapon has its own set properties, unique name and very often an enchantment that will give him some special advantage.
What weapons do you have in Skyrim, you can write about it in the comments!
Best Skyrim Daggers
There are over ten unique daggers in the game, but we're going to focus on a couple that we think are particularly excellent. If you're building a character for stealth play, they can prove to be quite a significant weapon for you to have for quite some time.
Mehrunes' razor
Mehrunes' Razor is a decent little dagger thanks to its base damage status of 11, but what really sets it apart is its enchantment. Any strike with Mehrunes' Razor has a chance to instantly kill an enemy.
To get the Razor of Mehrunes, you need to complete the Pieces of the Past quest and kill Silus Vesui at the end of the quest. You will be prompted to complete this quest once you reach level 20 through a courier, or you can stumble upon the quest by walking around Dawnstar; where they will tell you about the Silus Museum, that’s where you need to go to start the mission.
Blade of Woe
This dagger is even more powerful than Mehrunes' Razor with a base damage of 12, and its enchantment is useful for fighting powerful enemies - each blow absorbs 10 health points.
The Blade of Woe can be obtained from NPCs during the Death Incarnate quest, part of the Dark Brotherhood faction quest line. You can also follow the early steps of the quest and kill Astrid during the quest "With Friends Like These". You will be able to take the Blade of Woe from her body, but you will no longer be able to join the brotherhood.
Weapon | Damage | Weight | Upgrade with Ingot, Perk | Effect |
---|---|---|---|---|
Dragon bone dagger | 12 | 6,5 | Dragon bone, dragon armor | No |
Blade of Woe | 12 | 7 | Steel ingot | Drain 10 health |
Mehrunes' razor | 11 | 3 | Ebony Ingot | 1.98% chance to kill instantly, infinite charges |
Daedric Dagger | 11 | 6 | Ebony Ingot, Daedric Smith | No |
Stalhrim Dagger | 10 | 4.5 | Ebony armor | Frost spell enchantment is 25% stronger |
Best Skyrim Maces
There are even fewer unique maces in the game, but some of them are still impressive. Maces are really meant for people who want to master the real power of the character and deal devastating blows to their enemies.
Mace of Molag Bal
This artifact is quite powerful, with a base damage of 16. It also comes with an enchantment that takes away 25 points of damage, stamina and magic. On top of that, if the target dies within 3 seconds, you will fill gem shower.
The Mace is given to you after completing Daegric Quest House of Horrors. In the city of Markarth, a leader named Tyranus will ask you to help find an abandoned house. As soon as you enter the house with or without a hint, this quest will begin. Finish the quest, take the mace.
Best Skyrim Swords
Swords are, of course, the most common weapon class you'll find in Skyrim. There are many of them, they are unique and scattered throughout the world. For you we have collected the most best samples that deserve to be seen.
Miraak's Sword
Original Skyrim players may not be familiar with the Sword of Miraak since it was added in the Dragonborn DLC, but it's pretty damn good weapon. The sword absorbs stamina thanks to its enchantment, and it has consistent damage.
To get your hands on it, you will need to start quests with the dragon priest by going to the island of Solstheim. When you are ready, two priests will tell you about the "first dragon" and try to kill you. This will start the DLC quest line. After several quests you will be taken to the final one Dragonborn quest, at the top of Apocrypha. You will be able to pick up this weapon as loot from a corpse at the end of this quest. It's a long process to get there, but it's worth it.
Cooler
Chiller is a glass sword and is great for enemies who don't like frost damage. His spells inflict frost damage and have a chance to paralyze enemies.
The weapon is held by the leader of the thieves guild, Mercy Frey. The easiest way to access it is to find it in Frey's house during the thieves guild quest "The Purist". It is proudly displayed in its case and has an expert lock that you can pick to gain access to it. Keep in mind that this weapon is level dependent, so how good it is will be determined by your level.
Curse of the Dragon
Do you spend an awful lot of time in Skyrim fighting dragons? Curse of the Dragon means it deals extra damage to dragons. This sword is level dependent, so its performance will be partially determined by your level when you first pick it up.
The Dragon's Curse is found in the Sky Temple during the Walls of Alduin quest and is an important step in the game's main story. In order to take it you need to find a room next to the main chamber of the temple.
Strangler and Bloody Scythe
Two more weapons that were added to the Dragonborn DLC. These two swords were designed to be double-bladed. When activated, the player gains a powerful enchantment to absorb magic and health, reducing the target's defenses from further physical and magical attacks.
You will need to reach the Dragonborn quest line to get to Solstheim. Once you reach level 36 or higher, you will find a copy of the book, Deathbrand, inside Tel Mithryn or Raven's Rock Temple. You will receive both of these weapons through the quest.
Black Blade of Gauldur
Gauldur's Black Blade is another level-dependent weapon, meaning its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first find it. The best version of it is used at level 36. As a weapon of the ancient Nord, the Dwarven Blacksmith's Fist will help you make it even more deadly.
The sword can be picked up during the quest “Forbidden Legend”. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends - this will begin the search for the legend of Galdur. You can find one of the books naturally; you will find it on the body of a dead adventurer in the Reachwater cliff. Later in the quest you will find yourself in the ruins of Golguntur - upon completion, this sword will be your reward.
Best Skyrim Battle Axes
Battle axes are a less popular weapon than the sword. We've selected a couple of axes to show you.
Okin
Okin is a cool Nordic battle axe. It contains a frost enchantment, and is dangerous for the enemy's stamina, health, and also has a stable base damage of 12. It can be upgraded and leveled up with a forged piece of steel.
To enjoy Okin, you need to do the quest Silence of Tongues. You can find it in the rubble of Volundrud by exploring around - you will find notes that will start pushing you towards the quest. Eventually you will receive this weapon as a reward.
Dawnguard Rune Ax
As the name of this weapon suggests, it can be found in the Dawnguard DLC pack. It uses solar damage against undead, and the amount of damage increases with each undead enemy you have killed with an ax since the last sunrise - this is its unique effect.
To get this weapon, simply purchase the Dawnguard DLC. Eventually you'll come across the Lost Relic quest. These are quests that will send you on a quest to find a random artifact, but if you keep doing these quests, you will eventually receive that item.
Battle axes and hammers, Greatswords
For players who like to play with two-handed weapons, Skyrim has quite a few unique types of axes, hammers and swords. So we grouped them together.
Wuuthrad
If you don't like elves, this weapon is definitely for you. It deals even more damage to elves, and that's on top of its base damage set at 25. It also looks pretty bloody, to be honest.
In order to become the owner of this weapon, you need to complete the “Final Duty” task, and for this you will have to join the “Companions” faction. The Last Duty is the final quest for this faction. You can take Wuuthrad's ax on the statue by activating it.
Ax of Sorrow
It is described as a very powerful weapon - it has a base damage of 22. It can be upgraded at the forge.
The ax can be found in the Daedra search. Once you reach level 10 or higher, you will want to find Lod near the entrance to Falkreth. When given the chance, kill Barbas with the axe. You must use an ax to kill him. You can save it as a reward.
Bloodthirsty Blade
Originally added in the Dragonborn DLC, this greatsword releases an energy blast when you make an attack. The energy blast also deals 30 damage.
You need to start the Dragonborn main quest and then head to Raven Rock Mine. Chat with Cresius at the entrance to the mine and begin the quest “The Last Descent”. You will find the blade near the remains of Gratian Kaerellius later in the quest, in the Bloody Swamp.
Volendrung
This massive hammer has a slightly vicious appearance and an absolutely ridiculous base damage of 47. It also absorbs stamina, very useful for a weapon of this size of this deadly nature.
The Daedric Prince will give it to you as part of the “Cursed Tribe” quest. To accept this quest, you need to go to the Orca fortress in Largashbur. Try to save the life of the orc Ugor, who will then help you in this quest.
Best Skyrim Bows
Bows are useful for players who like to stay at a distance and shoot enemies with a hail of arrows. Here is our selection of long range bows.
Nightingale onion
The Nightingale Bow is actually owned by Karliah, a member of the thieves' guild and a temporary follower of Dragonborn for some of that guild's quests. His spell allows him to freeze and shock the target, which is very convenient. This is a level dependent weapon, so its power will depend on your level when you get it. The best version is at level 46 and above.
To become the owner of the Nightingale Bow, you will have to join the Thieves Guild and follow your quest line. By the end of this quest series you will receive the Blindsighted quest. This bow is a reward for completing this quest. He also gives you a bone key, so this is a really useful quest.
Glass Bow of the Deer King
This bow has a charm that blesses you for every 20 animals you kill with a bow, ideal for hunting. Blessing does the most, but it also provides a significant boost to health and stamina while the bow is equipped.
You can get the bow from Falas Selvane at the old trading post. It's on the island of Solstheim, so it's part of the Dragonborn DLC. The bow can be taken by stealing it or simply buying it.
Gauldur's Black Bow
This item has priority based on your level, that is, its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first equip it. The best version is at level 36.
The bow can be picked up during the quest “Forbidden Legend”. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends - it will start with finding the legend of Galdur. If you don't find one of the books naturally, you can take it from the dead adventurer in Reachwater Cliff. The quest will eventually lead you to Geirmund's Hall, where you will fight Sigdis Galdurson. The bow will be your reward.
Weapon | Damage | Weight | DPS | Upgrade | Effect |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Improved Dwarven Crossbow | 22 | 21 | N/A | Dwarven Blacksmith | Ignores 50% armor |
Dragon Bow | 20 | 20 | 15 | Dragon bone, dragon armor | No |
Auriel's Bow | 13 | 11 | 13 | Refined Moonstone, Elven Blacksmith | 20 sun damage tripled if target is Undead. |
Marshmallow | 12 | 10 | 12 | Dwarven Blacksmith | Arrows are 30% faster than a standard bow |
Daedric Bow | 19 | 18 | 9,5 | Ebony Ingot, Daedric Smith | No |
Nightingale onion | 19 | 18 | 9,5 | Ebony Ingot | 30 units Frost Damage |
All skills in the game are divided into three categories: combat, magic and thieves. This article will focus on combat skills.
The Blacksmithing skill is responsible for creating new items here. Offensive skills are Shooting, One-handed weapon And Two-handed weapon, and defensive ones - Heavy armor and Blocking. Activating the Warrior Stone increases the growth rate of combat skills by 20 percent.
Hand to hand combat
In the game, in addition to various weapons and magic, you can also use your own fists. Damage in hand-to-hand combat is always caused to the enemy's health, but not to his magicka or stamina. Hand-to-hand combat is not as effective as other fighting styles, but it can still kill. If you play as a Khajiit and find yourself a pair of heavy gloves, then somewhere up to level 10 the damage dealt by hands can exceed the damage from weapons. It is important to note that you can deal critical damage from stealth with your bare hands, but you cannot apply poison to your hands. The distance of fighting with hands is approximately equal to the distance of fighting with daggers, the speed is average. Can be combined hand-to-hand combat using magic or a shield, striking with only one hand. Unfortunately, since hand-to-hand combat is not a skill, your early game development may be a bit stagnant if you use this fighting style heavily.
Damage with bare hands at the beginning of the game is fixed for each race. All races, with the exception of Argonians and Khajiit, deal damage equal to 4 . Argonians and Khajiit have the same base damage 10 , and the latter also have a passive ability that increases the total damage with their hands to 22 . These values do not change as the level increases and are associated with only one perk - Fists of Steel, which can be found in the branch Heavy armor.
People and elves
Base damage without weapons: 4
Total damage: 4
Argonians
Base damage without weapons: 10
No additional bonuses
Total damage: 10
Khajiit
Base damage without weapons: 10
Additional Damage: 12
Total damage: 22
Increased melee damage
The Fists of Steel perk adds damage in hand-to-hand combat, numerically equal to the base armor rating of the gloves worn by the protagonist. The maximum base rating is daedric gloves, and, accordingly, the damage added by them is equal to 18 . Growing skills or improving gloves at the forge does not affect this number.
There is only one item in the game that improves your unarmed combat skills. It's called Fighter's Gloves. You can find him in the Rat Hole, the infamous sewer of Riften, with a comrade named Gian the First. This item can be broken at the altar of enchantment and then enchanted with a ring or other gloves to increase damage from punches. There is also a ceiling here and it is equal 14 .
So the maximum damage you can achieve in the game without using alchemy is 10 (base) +12 (Khajiit Claws) + 18 ( daedric gloves) + 28 (enchantment for ring and gloves) = 68
Fight with weapons
In order to use a weapon, you must assign it to your left or right hand. Two-handed weapons and bows require the use of both hands. When equipped, shields automatically appear in the left hand, and they cannot be reassigned to the right hand.
If your attack deals enough damage to kill an enemy, the game may show a kill animation. If you have activated perks Merciless Strike And Crushing blow in skills One-handed weapon And Two-handed weapon Accordingly, you will sometimes be able to observe the decapitation of the enemy. Finishing moves occur only in relation to the last enemy in the immediate vicinity at a certain distance.
Two weapons
This fighting style is characterized by speed and pressure. If you assign a weapon to each trigger, you will not be able to block enemy attacks, but you will be able to interrupt his attacks with a continuous barrage of blows. A double attack takes about one and a half times longer than a one-handed attack, but the damage done is much greater.
Double attack speed is determined based on the weight of the weapon in your off hand, and the stamina cost depends on the weight of the weapon in right hand. Thus, it makes sense to hold a dagger in your left hand so that the double attack is faster. But most likely, using one type of weapon will be more effective due to the perks used.
The Double Whirlwind perk increases the speed of the weapon not only when striking with both hands, but also with one, if you have a weapon in both hands.
If you assign a spell to your main hand, you will lose the dual-weapon combat bonuses, but if you assign spells or a shield to the other hand, the bonuses remain.
Power attacks
A power attack is carried out by holding the corresponding key. It deals twice the damage of a normal attack and also has a chance to stun the enemy. Your stamina decreases according to the following formula:
Stamina cost for a power attack = (20 + weapon weight) * attack cost multiplier * (1 - perk effect)
The attack cost multiplier is 2 for a power attack with one hand and 3 to attack with two hands (the protagonist deals 3 blows in a row).
Depending on the direction you move, you can perform different power attacks. So, when performing a forward power attack, you will lunge, which will quickly reduce the distance between the enemy and you. By using a force attack while moving backwards, you can effectively counteract enemy attacks. Using the Fan Attack perk allows you to deal damage to all enemies in front of you with power attacks with a two-handed weapon while moving sideways.
The stamina spent on an attack does not determine the damage inflicted on enemies, so if you spend less stamina on an attack, this does not mean that the damage has decreased.
WITH alignment various styles battle
Possible variations of different fighting styles are described below. Hand-to-hand combat is not included in the consideration, since it was discussed above, and combat with a weapon in one hand, because it is obviously weaker than combat with a two-handed weapon.
One-handed weapon and shield
One of the most popular fighting styles, balancing between attack and defense. One of the benefits of this fighting style is the passive bonus to overall armor rating that the shield provides. Leveling up the Blocking skill reduces physical damage received to a minimum. Perk Elemental protection in Blocking, halves magical damage from elemental spells.
Unfortunately, to get the full benefit from this fighting style, you need to spend a large number of perks - 25 . Even a more “budget” option with leveling up only the left side of the Blocking skill tree and investing in perks Strong hand and Fighting stance in One-handed weapons will require about 15 perks For the same amount of perks, you can use two-handed weapons more effectively.
Two-handed weapon
Using this fighting style, you will be less protected than using a weapon and shield, however, the benefits are also great: more damage per second, as well as truly devastating power attacks. However, you will still be able to use the block, albeit not as effectively. To get the full benefit from this fighting style, you only need to spend 15 perks
Two weapons
This fighting style has the least defense among all the others. The game hint says that a two-handed strike immediately deals twice as much damage, but this is not entirely true, because it takes 50% more time. And the total damage per second increases to 133% of the base. The Double Whirlwind perk speeds up attacks with one or two hands, as well as power attacks (if the weapon is in both hands). With two-handed power attacks, you land as many as three hits in a row. The main perks for this fighting style are Strong Arm, Fighting Stance, Double Whirlwind and Double meat grinder. To pump them up it will take about 9 perks The price for such cheapness is an almost complete lack of protection and increased consumption of stamina, so you must take care of potions for restoring health and stamina in advance, and act decisively and quickly in battle. Redguards with the Battle Fury ability can do without stamina restoration potions.
Warrior of the word
Warriors of the word skillfully combine a weapon in the main hand (because the weapon in this hand is 15% faster) and a spell in the other. Word warriors can be divided into two categories: some supplement the damage from melee weapons with magic, others use support spells. The first concentrate on the school of destruction and weaken the enemy at a long distance and, after depleting their magical reserves, use their weapons. Others call on creatures from Oblivion to help, heal themselves, etc. Since one of your hands can have a spell of absolutely any type, from a jet of flame to illusion spells, it is quite difficult to say how many perks you need to see the most effective work selected style. The most “budget” warrior of the word is obtained after taking the perks Strong Arm, Fighting Stance and several from the Restoration school (a full-fledged school of magic). This fighting style is very easy to combine with the above-described fighting style Two weapons. Master
The difficulty level also affects the cost and duration of the spell Balance from the school of Change.
Fall Damage
If you fall from high altitude, then you will receive a certain damage, which is calculated using the following formula:
Fall damage = ((height - 600) * 0.1)^1.45 * modifiers
The Soft Pad perk in the Heavy Armor skill reduces fall damage by half.
The damage that other characters receive is calculated using a more “severe” formula:
Fall damage = ((height - 450) * 0.1)^1.65 * modifiers
Addition
- Two-handed combat improves mastery of one-handed weapons rather than two-handed ones.
- Unlike the previous two games in the series, Morrowind and Oblivion, weapons in Skyrim do not require repair, cannot break, and do not deteriorate with use.
- Fighting is one of the points of persuasion. After winning, the character will give you all the information you need.
- Swords, axes and maces are combined into one skill, and the required specialization is determined by perks.
- Using your fists as a weapon will not increase your level, since hand-to-hand combat is not tied to any skill.
Summary: Skills ».
Possession two-handed weapon(orig. ) - skill from the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, affecting efficient use weapons that use both hands. The main advantage of a two-handed weapon compared to a one-handed one is the attack radius and a more effective ability to block blows. Powerful blows often throw the opponent off balance, giving him some advantage over enemies with a shorter attack range. Preferred for warriors in heavy armor. The growth of this skill is affected by touching the Warrior and Lover Stones.
Weapon Types
Two-handed weapons themselves are the most heavy weapons, but even among them there are differences. They are divided into three types: swords, axes and hammers. They all have their own weight category, on which the attack speed depends. Massive weapons are more difficult to swing. Swords are light and therefore fast, but cause relatively little damage, while hammers, on the contrary, have crushing power, but are very heavy.
Racial Advantages
In the beginning, those who are best at this skill are:
- Nords: +10
- orcs: +5

- Bleed damage depends only on the material of the weapon and lasts from three to seven seconds. The bleeding effects from each hit stack.
- Only affects the base damage of the weapon. Skill level, abilities, upgrades, etc. do not affect critical damage.
- The paralysis effect is also affected by the Permanence ability of the change skill.

Details
- Two-handed sword:
The fastest among two-handed weapons, it has average stamina consumption and sufficient attack speed to strike and parry on par with fast opponents and small animals. Highly effective in initial stages against any opponents. Armored warriors in full kits heavy armor take unpleasantly little damage from such weapons.
- Two-handed axe:
Slow attack speed, slightly higher damage than the sword. It is noteworthy that the Bleed ability, which lasts for a long time, causes the enchantment effect to trigger for each damage dealt by the ability. However, if you set the task of burning an enemy by enchanting a weapon, it is better to use a one-handed ax.
- War Hammer:
The very slow attack speed, combined with the huge consumption of the reserve of strength, make this weapon, subjectively, one of the most difficult to master. If your goal is not to miss your opponent's blows, then you will have to spend more than half of your time fighting for
