The operation of resistance welding machines includes daily observation by a welder of its normal operation during the welding process and maintenance of mechanisms and electrical equipment performed by service technicians, electricians, and mechanics.

With a sufficiently large number of welding machines at the enterprise, two organizational forms of adjustment are possible - either through the department of the chief power engineer, or through special repair and adjustment shops, when in a specialized workshop all work related to the maintenance and repair of equipment is performed by specialists who are sufficiently competent in both matters welding equipment (its mechanical and electrical parts), and in welding technology. In this case, adjustment groups have isolated rooms and warehouses in which necessary equipment, equipment, electrical tables and stands, metal workbenches, electrical measuring instruments.

Machine oil is poured into the roller rotation drive gearboxes. Open gears are lubricated with grease or petroleum jelly. Technical castor oil or turbine oil is poured into the lubricators. Other oils should not be used as they can cause swelling and failure of rubber seals and seals. The lubricator is adjusted so that for every 10 strokes of the compression drive there is one drop of oil.

It is recommended to pour up to 100 g of technical castor or turbine oil inside the pneumatic cylinder, on top of the piston.

The sliding current-carrying contacts of suture machines are lubricated at least once per shift with castor grease with white flake graphite in a ratio of 30% pure graphite grade A and 70% first grade castor oil.

To lubricate sliding contacts, it is effective to use electrically conductive lubricant Esvol, which has greater operational durability.

To ensure a consistently low resistance of the secondary circuit, it is necessary to systematically monitor the resistance value of the secondary circuit using an F-415 microohmmeter. Deviation from passport data can be no more than 20%. For large deviations, measure the resistance of all moving and fixed contacts of the secondary circuit.

The normal resistance of fixed contacts should not exceed 2 μΩ, movable contacts - 4 μΩ. If these resistances are exceeded, the contact connections are disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, assembled and securely tightened.

The main task of servicing welding machines is to maintain their performance and stability of reproduction of specified welding modes throughout the entire depreciation period (10 years).

The system of planned preventive maintenance (PPR) adopted by enterprises includes scheduled inspections and repairs (small, medium, major). PPR work is carried out according to a pre-drawn plan, taking into account the type and operating conditions of the equipment.
