Until what winter holidays do children have? Holidays in quarters. Autumn break period

The favorite time of the year for schoolchildren is summer - this is the longest vacation period, when you can take a break from classes and not think about lessons. The rest of the time, the children also have the opportunity to briefly distract from their studies: in autumn, winter and spring, periods of rest are provided after the end of each quarter.

School holidays during the 2018-2019 school year will also be no exception, and children will be able to take breaks in their studies, although not all schools will have them at the same time.

General provisions

The periods free from classes at school are necessarily provided to all students at the same time. Their duration is regulated by the law of the Russian Federation "On Education" and the school Charter. The calendar schedule for the academic year must be developed and approved by the educational institution.

The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation does not set exact dates for children's vacations in all educational institutions, but only limits itself to recommendations on the time of rest periods for Russian students, taking into account their studies in quarters or trimesters. There are also schools and gymnasiums that provide children with additional vacation periods, and for first-graders, in addition to the general ones, 7-day vacations in February are mandatory.

During the academic year, the total number of rest days is at least 30 (for first-graders - 35), and in summer - at least 56 calendar days. The mandatory start date is September 1st.

Vacation schedule for schools and gymnasiums for 2018-2019

When studying at school in quarters, the recommended rest periods in schools, gymnasiums and lyceums are 7 calendar days in the fall, 2 weeks in the winter and 1 week in the spring. Two additional days, at the discretion of the administration of the educational institution, can be added to the autumn or winter rest, taking into account public holidays (November 4 and New Year).

This means that the vacation schedule for 2018-2019. may include the following vacation dates:

  • autumn - from October 27 to November 5, 2018;
  • winter - from 12/26/2018 to 01/08/2019;
  • spring - from 23 to 31 March 2019
  1. Summer holidays begin for elementary school students on May 23-25, and for high school students (except for grades 9 and 11) - from June 1. Graduates will complete the educational process in accordance with the schedule of exams, taking place from the end of May to the end of June.
  2. National Unity Day in 2018 falls on a Sunday, so the autumn holidays of the 2018-2019 academic year will most likely begin on October 29 and end on November 5, amounting to 8 days, and taking into account the days off (October 27 and 28) - 9-10 days. During this time, students will be able to have a good rest, visit museums and theaters, go to the cinema and spend time with their parents and friends.
  3. The New Year holidays of 2019 begin for schoolchildren after December 25, 2018 and continue until January 9, 2019. All-Russian New Year holidays fall at this time, so the children will be able to spend them with their families. Family holidays can be spent at ski resorts, on trips to interesting places in Russia. Throughout the country at this time, there are many fun activities for children that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
  4. In the spring, the holidays of the 2018-2019 academic year will begin on March 23, and schoolchildren will begin their studies on April 1, 2019. The third quarter is the longest, and rest is especially needed after it. The end of the school year is coming, and you should have a good rest in order to complete it without problems. If the weather allows, this time should be devoted to walks and outdoor games. Holidays will also allow you to improve your knowledge in those subjects that require additional training.

Many Russian schools, with the consent of the parent committees, switched to trimester education, which involves dividing the study period into 3 parts. This entails a change in the rest time of schoolchildren in comparison with students in quarters.

Holidays with a modular system are calculated according to the following scheme: training - 5-6 weeks, then rest - 7 days. Children take the following breaks in their studies:

  • in autumn 2018, these days fall on October 7-13 and November 18-24;
  • in winter - from 12/29/2018 to 01/08/2019 and February 18-24;
  • spring 2019 - April 8-14.

Additional holidays for first-graders

Additional holidays for first-graders in 2018-2019 will be held from February 25 to March 3. They are introduced in order to help the young student to better adapt to learning and spend the longest quarter in the study period. The same additional vacation period is recommended for students of correctional educational institutions. In some schools, a holiday in February is arranged for all students in primary grades from 1 to 4.

Where to find information about holidays

The vacation schedule in schools in various Russian regions during the academic period may undergo minor changes related to the postponement of holidays and the decisions of the local school administration. Only in Moscow, the Department of Education establishes a unified study schedule for students in the traditional and modular system.

The exact calendar of school holidays for the 2018-2019 academic year can be found in the most appropriate way:

  1. Go to the official information portal of the educational institution, where there is a calendar schedule for the academic year.
  2. The child's electronic diary should also contain information about rest periods in the information section for parents or in the news and announcements section.
  3. The class teacher is obliged to provide such information to parents, since the curriculum is drawn up in the summer and the vacation schedule is approved in advance.
  4. Information about rest periods during the school year can be obtained from the secretary by calling the reception of the educational institution.

Having all the necessary information, parents can plan the upcoming joint vacation with their child in advance.

For adults who work a standard five-day work week, New Year's holiday will be ten days this time. We love the New Year, among other things, because this holiday is exclusively a family holiday, and the first week of January is the time when all family members are free from work and study and can spend time together. Holidays for schoolchildren coincide with short holidays for adults. Let's figure out when the winter holidays of the 2017-2018 academic year begin in Russian schools, how long they will last when students need to return to school.

When will the winter holidays of the 2017-2018 academic year be in Russian schools

We have already said, talking about the autumn holidays in Russia, that in our country there is currently no unified vacation schedule for schoolchildren. Perhaps the lack of centralization in this matter will seem inconvenient to someone, but there is a certain reason for this. The Russian Ministry of Education only talks about some of the rules that must be followed when planning school holidays. The right to decide exactly when the children will rest is given to local educational authorities (departments, regional ministries, etc. departments, they are called differently in different regions of the country), and sometimes even to the director of a particular school.

The Federal Ministry of Education assumes that the local authorities know better how to properly organize the school holiday schedule.

Another nuance worth remembering is the various forms of organization of the educational process that currently exist in Russia. Theoretically, there can be a large number of these forms, but in fact two are accepted: the division of the academic year into quarters or trimesters.

What is four quarters, no one needs to explain. All Soviet schoolchildren studied according to such a system, and it still seems reasonable and convenient. Trimesters are a more complex thing, and you won’t be able to meet them in their pure form. It is clear that if the school year is divided into three parts and, accordingly, children are allowed to rest only twice during the school year, it will be difficult for schoolchildren to cope with this. Therefore, in fact, it turns out that in schools that work in trimesters, intermediate grades are indeed given for three trimesters, but the year is divided into six approximately equal parts - not only at the end of the trimester, but also in its middle, students are provided with a week's rest.

Winter holidays, however, differ in that they coincide in schools with different forms of organization of education. New Year's holiday is one of the central events of the calendar, so it must be taken into account when scheduling vacations in any school.

As for exactly when the winter holidays of the 2017-2018 academic year begin and end in Russia, the specific dates left to the discretion of local educational authorities differ slightly:

  • In Moscow, winter holidays for all schools are from December 31 to January 10.
  • In St. Petersburg, winter holidays are from December 28 to January 10.
  • Winter holidays in Tomsk from December 30 to January 10.
  • In Sarov (Nizhny Novgorod region) holidays from December 29 to January 9.

This list can be almost endless, we have given only a few examples that demonstrate how different the start and end dates of vacations are in schools in different cities of the country.

Speaking on average across the country, the winter holidays will begin on December 29-31 and end on January 9-10.

Holidays for schoolchildren for the new year will be slightly longer than for adults. Recall that working Russians will rest from December 30 to January 8. Children in most cases will go to school a day or two later.

The only advice we can give you is if your interest in winter vacation dates is not idle, but is related to planning family vacations, other trips, etc. - go to the website of the specific school where your children study. As a rule, there is such information on the school's website, and if it is not there, check this question with the school secretary or your child's class teacher.

The decision on when to dismiss schoolchildren on vacation in Russia is made by the educational institution itself. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education, the duration of vacations, their start and end dates are determined by the school. Only the total duration of study and vacation periods is regulated, allowing children to cope with the curriculum without "overloads":

  • the academic year for first-graders should last at least 33 weeks, for students of other classes - at least 34;

  • the period of summer rest for children is at least 8 weeks;

  • short vacations within the school year must total at least 30 days, and first grade students are allowed an extra week.

Despite the given freedom of choice, most Russian educational institutions adhere to the traditional scheme that developed back in Soviet times when approving the vacation schedule: four quarters, a week of rest in November, two for the New Year holidays, another week at the end of March. Regional departments of education usually send out recommended vacation dates in advance of the start of the school year, but the final decision remains with the school administration.

Moscow is an exception. Here, vacation dates are the same and are set by the Metropolitan Department of Education for two options for the study schedule - traditional (quarter) and trimester (modular), when the year is divided into equal intervals and five weeks are followed by one vacation.

In the regions, the dates may vary slightly, but the vast majority of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums will have the same curriculum.

School year start and end dates

2017-2018 academic year traditionally starts September 1, on the Day of Knowledge. This year, the first week of school will be very short - the first day of autumn falls on the calendar on Friday, so that students will have the opportunity to smoothly move from rest to study.

The end date of the school year may be slightly shifted due to the peculiarities of the academic schedule. Primary grades will be the first to leave for the summer holidays - their school year will end May 22-24. Middle and high school students will study for a few days longer, for them the last day of school will be May 25-26. In Moscow schools that have chosen a modular mode of study, high school students will sit at their desks the longest - until the 31st.

9th and 11th grade students taking final exams will be exempted from study hassle in accordance with their exam schedule. The Unified State Examination and the OGE will begin in the last week of May and will run until the end of June.

graduation parties most will pass during the period from 23 to 25 May(they are not recommended to be held on June 22, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow), but if a student takes any exams on reserve days, his exam marathon can continue even after receiving a certificate.

Fall break dates 2017

According to a long tradition, the autumn holidays in schools are held the first week of November. In Soviet times, they were "combined" with the celebration of the anniversary of the October Revolution, but now they fall on National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4th. In 2017, the holiday will be a Saturday, and due to the postponement of the holiday to Monday, November 6, adults will have a three-day mini-vacation. For schoolchildren, these days, of course, will also be "time off" - an additional day of rest will be "added" to the usual weekly duration of the November holidays.

In most Russian schools, the autumn holidays - 2017 will be held according to the following schedule:

  • duration - 8-9 days;

  • official start– October 30 (Monday) or the previous Sunday;

  • last day of rest– October 6 (Monday) or October 7 (Tuesday).

Winter holidays schedule at school in 2017-2018 academic year

The middle of the school year will traditionally be marked by a two-week period of winter rest timed to coincide with the celebration of the New Year and Christmas. This is perhaps the most significant vacation of the school year. If only because the January holiday decade in Russia is the only time when both adults and children at the same time get rid of daily troubles for a long time and can plan quite long trips with the whole family. Therefore, it is especially important to find out the exact timing of the winter holidays in schools.

By tradition, schoolchildren are allowed to rest 3-4 days before the New Year, and they go “to the machine” almost simultaneously with adults - either on the same day or the next, and the period of the all-Russian weekend completely “fits” into children's holidays.

In the winter of 2017-2018, the “typical” school vacation schedule will be as follows:

  • duration - 14 days;

  • first day of rest– December 28 (Thursday);

  • last day of vacation– January 10 (Wednesday).

Additional holidays for first grade students - 2018

The third quarter is the longest and usually the most difficult for students. To "unload" the smallest, in February, first-grade students are given an extra week of rest. In addition, the February holidays are recommended for students of correctional schools, and in some educational institutions even the entire “primary school” can rest in February - from 1 to.

The timing of additional vacations is the most variable, in some regions they are preferred to be held at the beginning of February, and in some - at the end of the month, on the week when Defender of the Fatherland Day is celebrated.

In 2018, the first classes will rest for either a week from 5 to 11 February(this option may be the most common), or from the 17th to the 25th.

School Spring Break Schedule 2018

The date for which spring break is “aspiring” is April 1. In the fourth quarter usually began on this day. In 2018, the first day of April will be Sunday. And in most schools, the rest schedule will be like this:

  • duration - 8-9 days,

  • vacation start– March 24 (Saturday) or March 25 (Sunday);

  • last day of rest- April 1 (Sunday).

In some schools, the schedule may be shifted a week ahead, and students will rest a week later, April 1st to 8th.

Official vacation schedule for Moscow schools: traditional and trimester (modular) modes of study

In the capital, vacation dates for the 2017-2018 academic year are dictated by a special order from the city's Department of Education. It was signed on 03/09/2017.

In accordance with the order in schools where children study By, holidays will be announced:

  • in October- from 1 to 8 number;

  • In November- from 5 to 12 (in fact, children will start resting a day earlier, November 4 is a general day off);

  • on New Year's holidays– from December 31 to January 10;

  • in February– from 18 to 25;

  • in April- from the 8th to the 15th.

In educational institutions of Moscow, working according to the "classical" system four quarters, the following vacation periods will be established:

  • autumn - from October 29 to November 6;

  • winter - from December 31 to January 10;

  • additional February– from 18 to 25 February;

  • spring - from 1 to 8 April.

How to find out the exact vacation dates for a child

Since the final decision on vacation dates is made by the school management, the dates of their start or end in different educational institutions may not coincide with the “average” schedule.

There are several ways to find out the vacation schedule at your school.

  1. Go to the official website of the school. By law, all "calendar" information must be contained there. As a rule, it is located in the "Organization of the educational process" or "Schedule" section.

  2. Look into the child. Vacation schedules may be posted in the announcement or parent information sections. But even if this is not the case, you can try to "scroll" the magazine for the period of the proposed vacation and "calculate" the exact dates - no lessons will be scheduled for them;

  3. Ask your child's class teacher. The schedule is usually approved in the summer, sometimes even earlier. By the time the school “roll calls” are held, teachers usually already have this information.

  4. Call the reception and check the vacation dates with the secretary of the educational institution.

The first month of the next academic year in Russian schools is coming to an end. Schoolchildren managed to get involved in the educational process after the summer holidays, but many of them, of course, count the days until the next vacation. We will find out when the autumn holidays will be in the 2017-2018 academic year, is it possible to name the exact dates when the holidays will begin in the fall, what features there are in establishing the school holiday period.

Autumn holidays at school in 2017: what date do they start

Most Russian schools use the same system of organization of the academic year that existed in Soviet education. Four quarters: two before the new year and two after it, which are separated by autumn, winter and spring holidays. In such schools, respectively, the autumn holidays are the same.

Schoolchildren who study in educational institutions where a different system is used - the trimester system - have a rest twice in the autumn. The trimester divides the school year not into four parts, but into three, but at the same time, schoolchildren have not less vacations, but on the contrary, more. A week of rest bisects the trimester, and another week completes the trimester.

As for the date on which the autumn holidays begin in Russian schools in 2017, then, accordingly, the date depends on which system of organizing the educational process is used by a particular school.

Trimesters in schools are still rather an exception, there are relatively many such schools, except perhaps in Moscow. For most Russian schools, the traditional autumn holidays after the first quarter are more relevant.

As you can see, the dates are quite approximate, which is due to the fact that Russian legislation has not set school holidays from above for a long time. Usually everything is decided at the level of the region, city, sometimes even a particular school. For example, the Moscow Department of Education, by its order, established autumn holidays in schools for the period from October 29 to November 6, 2017. In St. Petersburg, the local education committee has set dates from October 30 to November 7.

Formally, the difference is not so great, but in fact, since October 29 is Sunday, schoolchildren in St. Petersburg will rest longer.

Approximately on the same dates, the autumn holidays will also take place in other Russian schools, the discrepancy is unlikely to be significant. As you can see, school holidays intersect with a three-day mini-vacation, which is in November and for adults in connection with the holiday of November 4th. Both adults and children will have a rest from 4 to 6 November. Parents will go to work on November 7, schoolchildren in some cases on the same day, in some cases a little later.

As for schools that use trimesters, then, as we noted a little higher, they will have autumn holidays twice.

The dates of the autumn holidays of the 2017-2018 academic year in such schools are as follows:

  • from 1 to 8 October,
  • from 5 to 12 November.

Thus, in schools where the organization of the educational process takes place on the basis of the trimester system, the second autumn holidays also fall on the November holidays.

For those parents or schoolchildren who care about the exact dates when school holidays begin and end at a particular school (for example, if you are planning a family vacation, adjusting your own vacation to your child’s vacation, etc.), it is best to contact your school’s website for more accurate information. If the school website does not contain such information, then you should contact the secretary, class teacher or other people who have official information on this. We can only give general information.
