Application area

This standard applies to ambulance vehicles intended for transportation on stretchers, stretcher chairs or wheeled trolleys in the “lying” position with the ability to provide medical assistance to at least one person accompanied by medical personnel. The standard establishes requirements for the design, operational characteristics, equipment of emergency medical vehicles and their testing methods.

The requirements of this standard apply to ambulances specialized assistance(neonatal, cardiological, etc.) with the exception of requirements for equipping with specialized equipment.

The standard contains general requirements for medical equipment used outside hospitals and clinics, where conditions environment may differ from normal conditions indoors.
