How to eat rose hips during pregnancy: popular recipes

Rosehip decoction has an excellent taste, and it can be prepared without much effort. At the same time, it is not necessary to brew rose hips separately - show a little imagination and combine them with other fruits that you like.

For example, a drink made from rose hips and black currants would be quite interesting and useful. Take 50 g of berries, grind them until smooth in a blender, then pour 400 ml of boiling water and boil for 10 minutes. The finished mixture must be left to stand under the lid for about 4-5 hours, then strain and consume 150 ml 3 times a day.

During pregnancy, rosehip drinks can be drunk either chilled or hot - instead of ordinary tea. However, before you get carried away with a useful drug, consult your doctor about your kidney condition. If problems are discovered, you should not drink more than a liter of rosehip per day - this can overload the excretory system and lead to complications.

Note: rose hips go well with rowan fruits, raspberries, lingonberries, nettle leaves and carrot roots. However, adding herbs to rosehip decoction during pregnancy should be done with caution, because most of them are contraindicated for expectant mothers.

Few people know that rosehip can be used to make not only tea, but also delicious jelly. To do this you will need 1 cup of berries (fresh or dried), a liter of water, about 2 tbsp. spoons of starch, as well as 5-6 tablespoons of sugar.

At the beginning of the article, we gave an affirmative answer to the question of whether pregnant women can take rose hips, but remember: you need to have a sense of proportion in everything. Excess vitamin C leads to a fairly heavy load on the kidneys, so even healthy women need to drink infusions and decoctions of these berries with caution.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account that products with a high content of ascorbic acid are not useful for every person. Those who suffer from high acidity, gastritis or peptic ulcers should either avoid rose hips during pregnancy completely or use it with great caution, after consulting with a doctor. Caution also does not hurt in the case of taking rose hips for heart diseases and dermatological problems, and in case of hypo- and hypertension, constipation, a tendency to blood clots and thrombophlebitis, as well as impaired blood flow, taking rose hips during the period of bearing a child is generally prohibited.

Can rosehip syrup be used during pregnancy?

No one doubts that rosehip decoction is useful during pregnancy, but there is still debate about whether rosehip syrup can be used by expectant mothers. Women are wary of this drug, since pregnancy is mentioned among the contraindications to its use. At the same time, many claim that they used the syrup while pregnant, and this did not lead to any negative consequences. So is it possible to drink rose hips in the form of syrup during pregnancy? How does it differ from a regular decoction, since the base is the same?

The fact is that pharmaceutical companies produce various types of similar syrups, and some of them contain vitamin C significantly higher than the daily requirement. An overdose of ascorbic acid does not bode well for the expectant mother, therefore, when choosing the appropriate option for yourself, you should pay attention to this factor.

In addition, for some women, rosehip syrup is contraindicated during pregnancy, regardless of the amount of vitamin C in it. Bronchial asthma, stomach or duodenal ulcers, as well as individual sensitivity to the components of the drug - all this may be a reason to refuse such a dietary supplement.

You can purchase ready-made rosehip-based syrup at any pharmacy or prepare it yourself. Since the drug is quite sweet and concentrated, it should not be abused. It is enough to add 1-2 teaspoons to a glass of water to get a tasty and healthy drink.

Rosehip oil during pregnancy and after childbirth

Even in Rus', good fellows treated battle wounds with rosehip oil.
